Advantages: Good directing Disadvantages: A little daft in places
...2'. Although this is the sequel to 'House of a Thousand Corpses' writer and director Rob Zombie went with the title 'Devil's Rejects' because of the poor reviews 'corpses' had.
So here comes the plot outline........
Devil's Rejects is set some months after the events in the movie 'corpses'. Right from the beginning of the movie, the Texas police are hot on the tail of the Firefly family who have killed more people than Adolph Hitler, hence the ... ...of torture, humiliation and murder.
The Firefly fugitives are on their way to seek refuge in a run-down amusement park owned by the mad clown Captain Spaulding, who is their half brother, but this is not before they torture and mangle other families and innocent passers by on their way.
Sheriff John Wydell will not rest until the Firefly family are captured, following the death of his brother in the first movie who was killed by the Firefly's. ...

Advantages: Funny, fairly original, well shot, good horror Disadvantages: May be too 'uncomfortable' for some
The Devil's Rejects is writer/director Rob Zombie's sequel to House of 1000 Corpses, set some months after the events of the first film. For the murderous Firefly family, it's business as usual, with the other family members relaxing at home whilst Tiny is off burying their latest victim, until Sheriff Wydell and his boys turn up at the house for a showdown. After a shootout of epic proportions, Mother Firefly finds herself in police custody with ... ...a road trip together, with the aim of meeting up with Baby's father, the equally psychotic Captain Spaulding, leaving many more corpses in their wake.
It's not really necessary to have seen the first film in order to understand or appreciate The Devil's Rejects as a film in its own right. It would help to be familiar with the characters and to know what evil they are capable of, but to be honest, I'm still not 100% on these details even after having ...

Advantages: Has a certain appeal, doesn't shy away Disadvantages: Some dodgy camera work, acting and FX
...guru/buff/cult director Rob Zombie saw the success of his debut feature length film House of 1,000 Corpses, he must have thought 'Sequel, here we come!' straight away. Definitely not for everyone, and criticised by many, it was also hailed as a hit by many due to the gruesome nature and the almost B-movie style of directing it adopted.
Enter this sequel, dragging with it a number of the characters from the first film, and keeping up the trends with ... ...film, although some of the more basic plot lines in this film could 'spoil' the first, if such a thing was feasible.
It sort of has two parts to it, kicking off with five unsuspecting members of a touring music group holed up in a motel room, who are held captive in the room by a pair of sadistic siblings, Otis and Baby Firefly, fresh from the first film. What strikes straight away is the sheer lack of care factor for human feelings or physical ...

Quick review of The Devil's Rejects (DVD)
If you like gory B movies then this is for you. Pleanty of blood and gore and generally sickening violence. I felt there was no real plot just a vague outline of most characters getting killed in one way or another. If your squemish this is not for you! If you want a way to pass an afternoon then its ok but dont expect great things. ...

Advantages: Comedy, horror, gore, the gorgeous Sheri Moon Zombie - and a cast of well known faces! Disadvantages: What disadvantages? This is my second favourite movie of all time! I can't say a bad word about it!!
...of 1000 Corpses 2 is the greatest homage to horror that there has ever been!
With a great tribute to the Texas ChainSaw Massacre and various other fantastic horror films.
The cast reads like a who's who of film- Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead - my favourite film of all time), Leslie Easterbrook (Police Academy), Danny Trejo (every film ever made).
With great performances from Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon ... ...Dallas Page!
Whilst the House of 1000 Corpses went for an out-and-out gore fest, the Devil's Rejects goes for subtlety and humour with a dash of sheer insanity!
A fantastic film, by the end of it you'll love each and every one of the characters - even if they are psychotic murderers! Oh fly high, oh free bird yeah!!!!!!!
Plot: After the rejects kill the police chiefs brother in the first movie, Officer Wydell surrounds their house with armed police ...

Advantages: It's Rob Zombie Disadvantages: Not as good as House of 1000 Corpses
Well not quite the sequel I expected, it's set out to stand up on its own. It has a good plot and a good story. although this time there is less blood and gore. I does feel like a much more polished and mature film. I think Rob certainly honed his directing technique on this film.
The acting is strong all except for Sheri Moon Zombie, who is only really there because she's Rob's Wife.
The Sets are good, and they all seem very realistic.
The film ... ...slash and it's also less twisted.
The features are pretty standard, trailers, documents, but there is a 2 hour on location feature, which although I haven't watched, it's a nice extra.
I think anyone who wants to see a horror film thats a little different should watch this. ...

Advantages: Plenty of gore and a cracking soundtrack! Disadvantages: None!
The follow-up movie to House of 1000 Corpses, not quite as gory as the first but it still has blood in plentiful supply! I must say i enjoyed this film a lot more than the first, it seemed to make more sense and have a better storyline. Its followable, basically. Im an avid horror movie fan, and the nod in the direction of texas chainsaw massacre should be duly noted - it's fantastically done. Of course, there is no shortage of sexyness with the ... ...Firefly!
I enjoyed this movie through and through, if, like me, you were a bit lost by house of 1000 corpses, get your hands on devil's rejects, its more fun to watch and easy to follow, with a few jokes thrown in for good measure. Has a cracking soundtrack too! ...

Advantages: Fast, scary, fantastic soundtrack Disadvantages: You'll have to watch it again and again
One of the best horror films i've seen. The action doesn't stop and the characters do not do the usual horror thing of making the worst possible decision that no one would ever make. As a follow up to house of a 1000 corpses, Devils Rejects is by far the better film. It stays realistic and i think there is nothing more scary than complete and utter pyschos just killing people for no good reason, rather than some stupid looking monster hunting people ...
