The film is based on Lauren Weisberger's bestselling novel.
In the film is Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep.

Advantages: good cast, good soundtrack Disadvantages: does miss out some parts of book
Based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger, the devil wears prada is a fabulous film set in the cuthroat world of fashion.
When Andy (anne hathaway) gets an interview at Runway, the bible of fashion, she enters a surreal world where fashion is everything. At the head of this world is Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep) the editor of Runway magazine. The film follows Andy as she struggles to make it in this cut-throat, and truly bitchy industry. ... ...was intrigued as to whether the book would be done justice. As has been the case with some book to film conversions, they don't always turn out as good as the book. However when i saw the film i was pleasantly surprised. Although it does cut out quite a few bits from the book, the film maintains the storyline, and really brings to life the harsh reality of working in such a superficial industry. Meryl Streep is perfect as the Queen of the fashion ...

The story of Andi changing her life for her job is a superb one. To get ahead she needs to pander new friends and maybe lose old ones in the process. Anne is cast as the hapless Andi. And what about Meryl Streep as the Stileto wearing Miranda? The ultimate bitchy boss we should be very afraid of.
The star of the film has to be Emily Blunt. She is wonderfully cast and the star of the show. My favourite bit of the whole film is this bit of dialogue ...

...book, basically they totally stole the idea for the film and the book from Ugly Betty. How well can a new but not stunningly pretty girl fit into the world of fashion whilst gradually getting prettier every scene until she's a stunner. Anne Hathaway is far too pretty to be playing a girl being called "fat" or unattractive. I'm a straight man, I have eyes and I happen to think she's stunning. Advantages: Great film, well cast, great soundtrack Disadvantages: Does deviate from the book slightly
The Devil Wears Prada is based on the 2003 book by Lauren Weisberger. It is also rumoured that Miranda Priestly is based on Vogue's Anna Wintour.
Meryl Streep is perfect as Miranda with her airs and downright rudeness to her assistants at times.
Anne Hathaway plays meek Andy, who is enticed into the bitchy world of fashion. She has to undergo gruelling tasks for her new boss, including finding a copy of the unpublished Harry Potter novel. And as ... ...and even her relationship.
It does deviate from the book in certain aspects, and I was disappointed not to have 'the bulletin' mentioned constantly as it is in the novel.
The film also boasts a fantastic soundtrack. Highly recommended film, especially for those wine and takeaway girlie nights! ...

The story is enchanting, potraying a young woman trying to make it as a journalist in New York and get caught up in the fashion world, and is sucked in and loses her previous goals in life.
Based on a best-selling novel 'The Devil Wears Prada', starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, this film is a must-see. Although I have to admitt that I have not read the book so cannot compare it, this film is sensationall and made me laugh countless times. ... ...favourite character by far is the snobby english assistant called Emily played by Emily Blunt, and Anne Hathaway's preformance as Andy Sachs is also Brilliant. Although the character Chrisian Thompson is somewhat annoying throughout the film, I think he is supposed to be despised and so i came to the conclusion that Simon Baker played his character very well. ...

The film, I felt, was rather vague. And although I already knew the story from reading the book, I found myself getting a bit lost and confused about what was happening.
Acting was satisfactory. Those actors which are well-known and have had good experience excelled themselves, but others, I felt, could have been improved upon. The settings for the film were very impressive. The use of the skyscrapers, flats and restaurants showed how much money ... ...case, as it had a much more realistic ending and made more sense in the ordering of scenes and situations. I felt a lot of comedic moments from the book could have been put in to the film to improve the entertainment value.
All in all, the film was satisfactory. ...

The Devil Wears Prada is a hilarious film adaptation of the bestselling novel from Lauren Weisberger. Although slightly different to the book, the plot is the same. ...well, but it's just like the all new American Sitcom, Ugly Betty that was all to unfunny.
