Anne Hathaway is an up and coming Hollywood actress at the mere age of 23. Its times like this I feel old. I've loved her past work including Ella Enchanted and the Princess Diaries film and she has a magical innocence to every character she portrays. She plays Andi Sachs, one of the key characters whom the film is based around. She is a dowdily dressed, laid back young girl who has just left ...

◊^^^Synopsis^^^◊
The “Devil Wears Prada” is a light hearted comedy that focuses on Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as she attempts to make it in the dog eat dog world of New York journalism. She soon realises that unfortunately, for her, first you have to get the connections before you can actually get accepted for a job writing for any substantial magazine in New York. So after repetitively interviewing and being rejected for several writing ... ...biggest fashion “book” in the business and applies for an assistant job to try and get a good reference and eventually work her way up to being a full time journalist. Although chief editor of Runway magazine, the extremely famous Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) believes, like everyone else at Runway, that she has “no sense of style and fashion” she takes her on because of her impressive résumé and because she sees something in herself in Andy. ...editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. In the book the Devil was named Miranda Priestly, and Runway magazine served as Vogue's alter ego. Apparently, the hot-selling novel devotes a ton of pages to Ms Weisberger's tale of woe under La Anna's reign of terror. Now such a story would find little favour with me as wretched whining and annoying victimhood are not my idea of a fun read. Fortunately, the film adaptation improves upon this by, among other things, ... ...ostensibly either for or against the film's utterly confused intent.
We know right off that Miranda Priestly wields tremendous power in the fashion world. (Is her last name an intentional pun, as designers quiver before her as before a fashion priestess or oracle? It also happens to rhyme quite nicely with 'beastly'.) Given 'the dreaded pursed lip' sign by Miranda during previews, the unlucky fashion designer must chuck his entire collection into ...

...I didn't see it at the cinema, although I had been mildly tempted out of curiosity, it is not the sort of thing I normally go for. Nevertheless, I didn't mind watching it on telly when I had little else to be doing! I'd seen plenty of trailers, so had some vague ideas about the film, so my expectations were not too high. Story After a dreadful interview with the completely disinterested Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) ... ...be easy, however, and quickly the frosty reception of her colleague Emily (Emily Blunt) reveals an organisational culture of arrogance, self-promotion and power-madness. Yet she is told repeatedly that this is a job millions of girls dream of having. Frankly, I'd be interested to meet these 'girls' as I've never heard of anyone dreaming of being fashion slave and slave to the queen of cold. This film will not be for everyone, although I was surprised ...

The Devil Wears Prada is the film adaptation of a book with the same name. I must confess to not having read the book, but I have seen the film so this is a film only review.
Our heroine is Andi (Anne Hathaway) who has recently earned a good degree and moved to New York to pursue her dreams of becoming a journalist. Unfortunately journalism proves very difficult to break into, so as well as sending her details to lots of magazines, she signs up ... ...Andy is called when the work-a-holic cum slave-driver Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) sacks her assistant and a replacement is needed rather urgently. Runway is essentially a fashion magazine (I imagine it to be like Vogue) but is taken very much more seriously by the employees. Miranda inspires both awe and fear in those that work for her, especially the snotty Brit girl Emily (Emily Blunt) who used to do Andi's job as 2nd assistant, ...

Advantages: Meryl Streep, fun film, good soundtrack Disadvantages: A lot of changes from the book which is annoying if you've read the book!
I actually read the book which was the basis for this film last spring, before I knew that they were turning it into a Hollywood blockbuster. I really enjoyed the book, and found it laugh-out-loud funny, so I had really high expectations for the film, especially when I read that both Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci were going to be starring in it. So here goes my review of The Devil Wears Prada.
As previously mentioned, the film is based on the book ... ...It tells the story of a young budding journalist called Andrea (Andy as we know her in the film), who gets a job working for New York's fashion bible Runway as assistant for the magazine's editor, Miranda Priestly. However, the job isn't exactly what Andy thought it would be. Miranda expects Andy to be on call 24/7, running to get her coffee at 6.15am, get hold of impossible book manuscripts for her young twin daughters and memorising the entire ...

...not time and then theres the disagreeing on what to watch. So when my other half went away for a couple of nights I took advantage and watched The Devil Wears Prada knowing it would definately not be his cup of tea. The film was produced in 2006 and directed by David Frankel (previously involved with Sex and The City the TV Show). The screenplay ... ...~~Whats it about?~~
The film opens with KT Tunstalls track 'Suddenly I See' which was a good start for me as I love that song. The song accompanies scenes of numerous females getting ready for work. Many of them appear wealthy and image obsessed. They are seen curling eyelashes, donning the latest clothes and hailing taxis. In between these ladies we meet our main character for the film Andrea (Andy) Sachs. She is clearly not from the same world ...

Advantages: Great cast and soundtrack Disadvantages: The ending is very different to the book, and quite disappointing
I first saw The Devil Wears Prada while I was in America during the summer. It wasn't something I would have picked myself, due to thinking that it was all going to be about fashion and shoes and bags and all that kinda thing that really doesn't interest me. But I did see it, and I did enjoy it. I was given the book as a gift for Christmas, so I thought it was time to revisit the movie to see how well it had made the changeover. *** Plot ***

When Andrea first walks into the Runway offices, she knows nothing about fashion, and doesn't particularly care to know either. Through some twisted hand of fate, the fashion-naive Andrea ends up as the junior assistant to the most powerful woman in the fashion industrial - a rather controlling woman by the name of Miranda Priestly, Editor ...

This is the situation that Andrea, (Anne Hathaway), finds herself in, although the job she had in mind is very different to the opportunity which presents itself as Assistant to the Editor in Chief of Runway magazine. She is the Editor in Chief of Runway Magazine, and a career magnate.
Telling you where the story goes would be a shame, as you need to discover this for yourself, although it does have morals to tell, and the introduction of many characters along the way. The film is an award winning combination of skill nominated ...

I fought of the urge to see this film for a long time as like Andy, I felt no connection with the world of fashion and trend and felt sure I would be bored senseless by an endless parade of ultra-thin models and mean stylists.
