Advantages: Brilliant cast. Excellant bonus features Disadvantages: Very Fast Paced, may leave newcomers behind
At last the long awaited book has been brought to the big screen and I have to say I think it will fascinate newcomers and disapoint those who are big fans of the book. The problem with a book as famous as The Da Vinci code is that when you read it, you conjour up your own ideas and visualisations of characters and locations and these can be destroyed when a director puts his own interpretation onto big screen for all to see.
The cast are fantastic ... ...Hanks who seems to get the balance of Langdon's vulnerability and heroics just right. There were some new faces as well (Audrey Tautou) which helps the audience adjust to the characters imagined from the book. Newcomers may find themselves slightly lost at times as the story has to be condensed into quite a short space of time and is fast paces however I feel that the mysteries and revelations of the story more than make up for this. Excellent bonus ...

Advantages: pretty faithful to the original Dan Brown book, keeps your attention, nice locations Disadvantages: maybe a bit long
After the mysterious murder in the Paris Louvre reknown Dr. Robert Langdon gets called in to help with the investigation of a curator. There he meets Agent Sophie Neveu, who as a cryptologist seems to also have been called to the scene of the crime. As it turns out Robert is actually a murder suspect and Captan Bezu Fache has a special reason to suspect this- an underhand info of a member of Opus Dei. This movie is pretty faithful to the original ... ...battle scenes are intermixed with the real story at hand. Whats also really nice is that nearly all the original locations have been used, including the Louvre in Paris. The movie builds up slowly and works itself up to a seemingly final conclusion, where the mystery of the Holy Grail is revealed. But this isn't really the end. While shaving Langton comes up with something else. And leads the viewer back to the Louvre. Only negative for me: The movie ...

Advantages: Thats it was made on Novel Da vinci code Disadvantages: Totally failed to develop intrest
Well i waited eagerly for the movie but got disappointed by the work and the screnplay and cinematrography done.I have completed the reading in 2 days only as it kept me tied it was that intresting, but the movie disappoint me and i looses the intrest in the story later.I was expecting it to be the blockbsuter but it hardly runs over 4 days in here. The story was so powerful I dont know what they did with the script and acting, got completely failed ... ...not upto the mark, character selection was very poor, poor connecting the links which resulted into boredom. Thus if you ust watched the movie then i surely recommend you to read the novel, but if you'd read the novel and yet to see the movie then trust me you are the lucky person, dont watch it. ...

Advantages: Mysterious, left the the view guessing Disadvantages: Movie maybe could have been cut a little shorter
I must say I feel the book was alot better than the movie. However I liked the fact the the movie elaborated on scenes from the book. After watching the Da Vinci Code, I feel like I had a better understanding of the characters and what they were about. This movie in my opinion was good, and was well played by Tom Hanks and Sophie Neveu. There is alot of scepticism about this movie and questioning certain details of religion. I do not think that is ... ...It is a good mystery and the leave the view curious to watch to the end. This movie had my full attention the same as the book.
The only negative side for me was that I thought that the movies was perhaps at little bit too long. ...

Advantages: Some very good acting Disadvantages: the book was better, also some poor acting
The build up and expectation of this film was termendous, all the fans of Dan Brown were ready to see his epic tale see justice in the Cinema. Unfortunately this isn't quite the outcome, the book set an unquestionably high standard which the film just didn't live up too. It was good and i would still say it was worth watching but the film just couldn't show all the things that made the book good, like all the interesting little facts about stuff ...
