This is the interesting thing about the movie, the plot it was made me want to watch this film anyway. Benjamin Button begins his life at the end of his life, he is born and looks like an 80 year old man, and has to deal with not only learning new things like beginning to talk, walk etc, but also dealing with arthritis and the fact that his organs were failing. The film follows Benjamin as he grows older through the years, but his appearance ... ...the story begins. Brad Pitt plays Benjamin Button This is the performance of his life, by far. Pitt plays Benjamin, he was born as a baby in an old mans body. As he grows, he begins to get younger, beginning the story of his life. Pitt plays Benjamin from when he was about 7 looking like an old man, through till what should be about 60 where he looks like ...

...epic of time. It tells the tale of a child born suffering the weaknesses of old age who lives his life backwards, growing younger with every year that passes. A long line of screenwriters have attempted to put this story to film but Eric Roth takes the famous author's premise and creates a more elaborate, beautiful narrative than the short story could ever convey. Among the old folks Queenie brings the child up and he is not out of place with the other patrons. ...defined by its opportunities... even the ones you miss". ----------------------------------------------- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is the worse case scenario for the professional film critic, which isn't me, of course. Its not that it's particularly bad or anything but what it represents. It's strategically released around the awards season in February so the movie press can go along to the freebie junkets and parties and pick up their ... ...stuff about it, and with the studios full PR machine behind the film low-and-behold it gets loads of nominations! Everyone in the business knows it's a very average movie but it cynically fits all the nomination criteria - painstakingly long, dressed with at least two huge A-List stars and intelligent enough to smugly alienate the proletariat to make the Academy feel cleverer than their public by picking it. This is nothing new of course and we have ...

The Curious case of Benjamin Button is an example of that rare thing in Hollywood; it is a great piece of story-telling. It takes an unusual premise and runs with it, creating a magical and emotional journey that charms, intrigues and moves in equal measure. It is gorgeously rendered, perfectly acted-out and sumptuously written with a huge amount of heart ...

...I had high hopes for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Firstly Brad Pitt was in it (how could it possibly be anything but great) and secondly it has been nominated for so many awards that I was really looking forward to seeing it. Unfortunately, although I found it good, it?s not a film I would go and see again and would not really describe it as a classic in my opinion.
The film is a love story, that much is certain, a love story across the ... ...found relationships and friendships across the ages. I think the reason why I didn?t love it is because to me nothing really happened, the film just sort of moved along with nothing much to the story and at times dragged a bit I thought and was probably a little bit too long. At one stage my husband and I turned to each other and just sort of felt a bit bored. That?s not to say however that the film was not wonderfully made and well presented.

Since catching the trailer during mid 2008, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button became one of my personal must see movies. Initially expected to arrive on UK shores at Christmas the movie was delayed slightly for a February 2009 launch, this struck me as being quite odd because it certainly is one of those movies that on initial glimpses oozes Christmas cheer, under the direction of David Fincher (Alien 3, Zodiac, Se7en) this was bound to be a movie ... ...of the movie is that for its lead character Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) he begins life at its end and moves backwards (or forwards if you wish) through to the state a normal person would be at birth. Unwanted by his father Thomas (Jason Flemyng) he dumps Benjamin on the doorstep of an old people home, a home run ...

I don't think the role demands all that much of him; obviously he is aged at first and grows gradually younger (until he is so young that the role is taken on by a child actor), but apart from that, this is very much a story of someone's life and Pitt isn't required to show all that much emotion. Nevertheless, he still does very well and definitely endears himself to the audience - he reminded me very much of Tom Hanks in Forrest ...

Somewhere in the midst of this film, our protagonists, Benjamin and Daisy are just like any other couple. Daisy (Cate Blanchett) is a dance teacher, Benjamin (Brad Pitt) the inheritor of a button empire fortune; the pair have just bought their own house and spend hours watching TV and generally enjoying each other's company. Rumoured to be one of the most powerfully emotionally dramas of the past few years, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is one of those films I've been 'curious' watch for the past few months. As part of my Lovefilm order, I watched it the other day, and was riveted from start to finish.
That having been said, I didn't find it astoundingly amazing, by any means. It is incredibly well shot, acted and presented, but there was nothing in the story ... ...It's essentially a description of the life of Benjamin Button, who was born an old man and lived his life in reverse, progressing backwards through age as we know it. He intersects his life with others around him, and as they come to terms with his curious case, we see the emotional effects this all has on them and on him. Decisions are often hard, as it must be to watch someone grow old as you are growing younger. And then, vice versa, it must be ...

...I first envisaged. It’s not the sort of thing you really give much thought to unless of course your name happens to be Benjamin Button ( Brad Pitt ). When he was born Benjamin was not your usual fresh-faced child, he was wrinkled old and some would say ugly.
