One of the big things that draw me to this film is my love of Whoopie Goldburg. I can not think of one film that she has done that does'nt appeal to me. ...and blacks where nothing. The actors are all in a class of their own. Whoppi Goldberg is one of the main characters in a realistic and gritty role (her first) which tells a story of the womans life she is playing -the violent and abusive husband she was given to, the friendship she shares with her husbands lover ect.
