Like most of his work The Card Player is a cutting edge idea from the king of Cutting Edge Dario Argento. After his stop off in Hollywood Argento has made fewer movies than he did during the 70's & 80's but the ideas seem to be worth the wait.
Onto the movie an Italian Police woman who is investigating the dissapearance of a British Tourist receives an E-mail from thew kidnapper. In steps John Brennan (Liam Cunningham from Cracker & Prime Suspect) who is an Irish Cop on placement in Italy with the UK police. Brennan has a troubled past and a history of alcoholism.
