THE BUSINESS on DVD
===================
Following the relative success of the ultimately disappointing "THE FOOTBALL FACTORY", Nick Love returns to the British film market with another predictable amalgamation of sex, drugs and mindless violence in a Costa Del Sol caper that exposes the limitations of a mediocre film director and his cast.
Where Guy Ritchie took an ailing British film market and used the same ingredients to ... ...the industry further back than ever. "THE BUSINESS" is another bland testament to his shortfalls and lack of original ideas. Take the same cast, concept and camerawork from your last effort and do it all over again in the sunshine. In the words of pretty much every character to be scripted in a Nick Love offering, one feels tempted to ask that oft-coined phrase from our tepid Cockney friends. Are you trying to mug us off, or what?

...Frankie is forced to flee the country. He finds himself on the Costa Del Crime in the middle of Thatcher's eighties, where he falls in with local dope smuggler Charlie. Taken under his wing, Danny transforms from innocent naïf to Charlie's right-hand man, much to the disgust of his partner Sammy. Things are further complicated when the game changes from smuggling marijuana to trafficking cocaine, bringing with it the unwelcome attention of the local ... ...I personally don't understand the current fascination with the 1980s, having lived through the decade. As far as I'm concerned it was a tremendously shallow era indelibly etched on my brain in neon shades and forever in the shadow of unemployment, financial insecurity and the Cold War. Apparently writer-director Nick Love is of an entirely different opinion, celebrating the crass "me, me, me" attitude, the appalling fashion disasters and the incredible ...

Advantages: The performances of the ever-excellent Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan Disadvantages: None
Following on from the excellent "Football Factory", the incredible Nick Love delivered what is still one of his very, very best films to date: "The Business". And what a film!
The story is set in the 1980's, a decade that was described as the "era of greed". Young adult Frankie (Danny Dyer) begins a brand new life in sunny, glorious Malaga, after killing his mothers violent, abusive partner back home in South London. Once in Malaga, Frankie befriends ... ...Unbeknown to Frankie at first, the lavish lifestyle led by Charlie is soon revealed to be a front for a world of violent, organised crime. Seduced by the lavish, luxurious lifestyle, Frankie reluctantly becomes one of Charlies most loyal gang members. Cue lots of excessive cocaine sniffing, gun shoot-out sequences which are all riviting to watch, and lots of usage of the words f***** and c***"! "The Business" is high adrenalin, fast-paced and tough ...

The Business is set in the 1980s and tells the story of a young man from London who goes to work in Spain. The film is set in the Costa del Sol, The acting, the storyline and the script in this film is not very good..
I might recommended this film for the soundtrack but not much else because it really isn't that good. I rented this film without the additional disc of extras so I can't really tell you anything about them. Even so, I wouldn't bother ...

The Business is Nick Love's follow up film to The Football Factory, and contains two main actors from that film, Danny Dyer who plays Frankie, and Tamer Hassan who players Charlie. Roland Mankoonian also plays a short role in the film. -- The Storyline ---

Advantages: Worth a watch. Disadvantages: Not as good as other films.
...will blow you away.. is the tagline, but I was left very underwhelmed after watching my copy of The Business DVD. As a fan of Danny Dyer I felt compelled to watch this film, and I'm sure fans of the genre such as The Football Factory and Green Street will have also wanted to give the film a look. It is unlike those films though, and makes those films look more football orientated than crime orientated like The Business. Based in the 1980's, the film ... ...to deliver that will be the kick stand to his life of crime as he rises to higher and higher levels of his new gang lifestyle. Sex, drugs, swearing and violence validates the 18 certificate for the film. It's clear that this film has been set for a certain audiance, and if you've never heard of Danny Dyer you're probably not that audiance. Whilst the film does past times, I found that even though it only lasted 91 minutes it dragged a bit and left ...

..., my expectations of " The Business" were going to be high, Fortunately Nick Love along with producer James Richardson has done it again , capturing the not so pretty reality of the drug business in the 80's. Frankie played by actor Danny dyer is a young lad in his 20's on the run from the high-rise's of South London , in his attempt to keep his head low he finds himself on the Costa del sol with his new friend and ex-con the "Playboy" (Tamer Hassan). ... ...the largest drug laundering organistion on the coast. Living the life of oraganized crime, woman and drugs what could possibly go wrong?
Cast also includes Geoff Bell as Sammy the "Playboys" business partner and life long friend. This film is definitely worth the watch, it captures the 80's era very well from the extras to the amazing soundtrack and gives an insight into the luxury lifestyle of a drug dealer. If you're looking for a genuine peep ...

With things not going well for Danny Dyers character he decides to go to spain and try his luck at making it big in spain, while in spain he gets involved with somebritish gangsters/drug dealer/ con men and becomes one of the 'big boys'.
its not long before him and his partner become too greedy for money and coke and things start to have a downwards spiral.
Things turn out ok for Dannys character in the end.
Very good film, worth watching. One of Danny dyers best in my opinion ...

Advantages: Few good scenes, Some humour, Good Extra's Disadvantages: Confused Plot, a bit dissolusional
The Business, directed by Nick love for me is quite a confused, and quickly constured story. The business is about a youngish male who is forced to leave the tenament blocks of South London after a few violent incidents with his mother's boyfriend. He Swaps it all for a new life in Malaga with nothing but some cash, which he has to deliver to a club owner. However without knowing just who this club owner is, Frankie's life will change for ever as ... ...crime and friendship tested to the limit"
There are some good performances from the actors, especially Frankie acted by Danny Dyer. This is due to the fact that Danny Dyer takes his role very seriously and tries to incude personal feelings into his acting.
I say that the plot of the story is confused and rushed as there is just to much going on at the same time, In one instance, we are at a scene on the beach where drug trafficing is happening ...

Advantages: Acts to a suspence Disadvantages: The charcters could have been stronger
The one film that i was reluctant to watch as my assistant at work was ranting and raving about the film, not knowing that my film taste is rather random. He said that i wouldn't like it, but one lonely night on my own, salmon salad in hand beer in the other i put the film on.
To my surprise i was rather taken with this one as it reminded me to Lock, stock and two smoking barrels with a hint of mean streets with it. The film started off slowly with ... ...arrives at a bar with the bag realising when it was opened that it was filled with money. This lead onto him joiningg partners with a drug and money loundering dealer who gave frankie (the young man) a job. After the initial introduction of all the characters the film buit up and up with some great suspence action and alot of guns and drugs. If you feel yourself drifting away from the plot of this film, don't-make sure you watch it right up until ...

...sexy sassy film, set in the glamour of the 80's, tennis shorts and all!
This film is director Nick Love at his best, the director who in 2004 produced the fantastic cult film Football Factory has come back with an even more thrilling film, bringing the brilliant Danny Dyer back with him, along with a few other memorable faces, Tamer Hassan being one.

A great soundtrack accompanies this film, with great hits from the 80's including video killed the radio start to get your head bobbing!
