Time to fly in the face of popular opinion and voice the fact I didn't enjoy the Bridges of Madison County, surely sacrilege in the eyes of the Oprah generation. I first saw this film, made 1995, on the television and no doubt it will now do the full circle of television seasons. Forget the fact that this is Meryl Street and Clint Eastwod. Forget the fact the Meryl is stuck in one of her accents that obviously isn't her own, because we know who she is so well. Forget the fact that Clint just sticks with his strong silent type character. This is a fabulous film. Some might say that it is a love story. I think it is a story about a mid-life crisis. ...just got round to buying the DVD. There aren't any special features worth mentioning on the DVD, but that wasn't why I wanted it.
