Advantages: Realistic, moving, thought-provoking
Disadvantages: Realistic

...a detrimental situation is clearly the right thing to do and they know full well when it is time to let go. For most, it is not that easy to do. So much guilt, anger, bitterness, jealousy and downright sadness can cause people to lash out at each other as well as people around them. Petty, childish games are played as the two ex-lovebirds try to score points against one and other. Suddenly they feel like the damage is beyond repair, so they stop ...
...make the break-up as civil and gentle as possible. Story Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn star as Brook and Gary, pair that met at a baseball game, saw sparks fly and made the mistake of rushing into a full-blown relationship just a little too fast. They buy a condo and start a life together, but unfortunately they were never meant to be. At what still seems to be the beginning of this film, they are already getting on each others' nerves. The last ...

That is of course, unless you know someone who takes his/her video camera to the movies and then sells on a dodgy copy to you afterwards. You know the ones, you insert the blank DVD into a machine, and up comes a dark picture with infrequent mumblings, with the obligatory ...

All of the above is more interesting than this film, billed as a "romantic comedy", but sadly lacking any comedy, other than the first 15-minutes. I'll cut straight to the chase…. don't watch this film. There are currently much better films on at the cinema at the moment, ...

***The Rules of Breaking Up***

Advantages: true to life
Disadvantages: a bit long

The Break Up is a movie I have wanted to see for a while because it has the lovely Vince Vaughn in it, and I wanted to see what his on-screen chemistry is like with Jennifer Aniston as they are going out in real life, despite attempts to cover up their romance. The movie has been pretty much slated by film critics, but as you all know, I don’t pay attention to the likes of them, I like to find out for myself, be it a waste of time or not…. ...

Instead though, the couple end up engaging in all-out war, as both refuse to move out of their shared apartment. They both indulge in spiteful trickery to get to each other, but as they are both so stubborn end up actually having to put the ‘condo’ on the market. So, will they realise their mistakes ...

The screenplay was written by Vince Vaughn, Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender. With neither willing to make concessions or back down this looks like the end for Gary and Brooke. "The Break Up" is a rom-com in reverse as we watch the decline of Gary and Brooke's relationship. The implosion of their loved up relationship makes for a far more interesting story than your standard boy ...

I did feel that the movie lagged a bit in the middle, at the start it was interesting to see what led up to Brookes decision ...

This was one of the more anticipated movies of 2006 because of the striking similarities to Jennifer Aniston’s private life as only a year or so previous she had ended her seemingly perfect marriage to Brad Pitt therefore taking on the role of Brooke in this movie was undoubtedly a very conscious decision and one that she knew she would get a lot of money and publicity for. ...

The Break Up is an enjoyable if somewhat predictable and safe romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn as a couple who split up after a row but stay in the same house. I Want To Break Free

Advantages: Entertaining, Good Cast
Disadvantages: Nothing new, not as savage as you'd expect

Like the song said, breaking up is so hard to do. However making a movie about a couple breaking up is not, it's been done so many times and in so many different ways that eventually we'll probably arrive back where we started. The Break-Up is the movie that fuelled the on/off rumours and denials of the summer months regarding the relationship between its stars Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston. It certainly gave the movie some press and kept Heat ...
...be lived up to. Thankfully The Break-Up is a pleasant evenings viewing. Gary (Vince Vaughn) is a guy's guy who likes sports, drinking, buddies and stuff. His fast talking manner charms him into the life of Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) at a baseball game. Through a nifty titles credits photomontage we get the idea of a burgeoning relationship that concludes in the two of them living together. But that's when the problems start, after a misfire of a ...

Break Up

Advantages: Very Good
Disadvantages: Some Annoying areas - See within

THE BREAK UP I am writing a review on the 2006 hit movie The break up starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughan. It’s the story of a couple Gary and Brooke who have been together for over 2 years, and after realising how unappreciating Gary is to her, Brook decides to break up with him. Not because she doesn’t love him, but to make him realise how much she does for him and without her there he will realise how he is treating her. However – the ...
...solution - Brooke can have the bedroom for her own personal space and Gary can have the living room as his personal space. So the 2 are living together and she tries to make him jealous by pretending to date other men but he won’t crack. Gary just assumes that she doesn’t care about him and doesn’t realise what she’s trying to do so he acts like he doesn’t care, so they clash and fights and rows blare. She got him kicked off their bowling team, ...

...regardless how much you love the actor/actress both of whome are great in their own right. But what the heck happened in this film? If you want action, get something else. If you want thrill, get something else. If you want funny, man, you do NOT want this! As far as I am aware, there is no extended version nor, thankfully, any attempt to make a sequel. There is no attempt at a soundtrack, probably because the director attempted to make the movie as believable as possible. It worked. 2/5 ...

I asked for 12 lemons!!

Advantages: Quite funny, and not as boring as some rom-coms
Disadvantages: Goes on a little bit...story wise

This is THE film Jennifer Aniston made after splitting with Brad Pitt, so thats why is gathered so much hype with its release! All that aside, this is actually a good film! It stars Jennifer Aniston as Brooke and Vince Vaughn as Gary. The two of them meet at a Baseball game and develop a long term relationship where they live together. The film follows the story of a rift that draws them apart unnessecarily. Brooke complains that Gary does not appreciate ...
...From that argument on, the pair go out of their way to try to get the other to apologise or move out first, to no avail!! I really felt for the both of them because it is clear they did not want to split up, yet the stunts they pull throughout the film are ridiculous and just push each other further away. Aniston is good at playing her serious, yet emotional character and Vaughn is very funny at times as his slobbish, laid back character Gary. They ...
