Let me get the facts straight first. Either you will love this film, or you will despise it with a passion. I state this because everyone I have ever met has had a very strong opinion on The Blair Witch Project, whether they loved it or hated it. Essentially, the movie is portrayed in a very simple style. The Blair witch project was in my view a very entertaining film that grasped my imagination, demanded all my attention and tried to make me believe that I was there too. The film was brilliant, if a little short, but I'm sure there are people that did not like the film, but I thought it was very worth my cinema ticket price. The film is a very low budget one, that sees a group of students videoing their own documentary about searching for the mysterious ...
...but you might just laugh the film off as a poor retake on an 'original' concept. I say retake, because this sort of thing has been done before, although success at this level was never achieved. The film cost $40,000 to make which is an absolute bargain because the actors alone should have received more than this; I'm sure they did when all the money started pouring in. The acting is brilliant, you really do start to believe that this is a real documentary ...

...Blair Witch without mentioning all the hype surrounding the film? I watched it on video, and so there was a lot of ridiculous publicity around for a while before I saw it. I felt like I SHOULD watch it, just to be able to say i'd watched it and to offer my opinion if anyone was interested! I was disappointed in the movie though. It was just SO SLOW to start. The story-line didn't flow easily at all, if it did flow. there was no real middle or ending. ...

The Blair Witch Project was released here with a string of publicity and hype. Apparantly people were coming out of the cinema's feeling sick! This was apparently due to motion sickness brought on by the dodgy camera work. The film itself is a documentary made by 3 students about the legend of the Blair Witch, and what we see is the only footage filmed, giving clues as to what happened to the trio. This is quite original, we get to see them heading ...

I just finished The Blair Witch Project and boy was I disappointed! I also just told someone who thought the movie was bad to try the book, now I feel stupid. It's not even a story. It's bits and pieces of information from the investigation. I say their is always more detail in the pages of a book than in a film, but this also was not the case. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film, but if you saw it then there is no need to spend the 9.99 on the ...
...you. The good news is, this was my Free pick from the book club so it cost me nothing...thank goodness. I LOVE to read but I will not recommend this book to anyone I know. I'll stick with the King and my true crime/murder books and wait for the sequel to this film, but I won't be ordering part two from the book club!. The Blair Witch Project is a wonderfully fresh approach to the art of movie making. It may not be the scariest film ever made but it sure does make you jump. The key to scaring an audience is the build up of tension, and the psychological aspect of the whole movie. ...so not scary. All the film is is people with a limited vocabulary running around a forrest saying "ooh aah im scared". What atmosphere? The whole film gives you a headache and sends you dizzy! If people actually wanted a good film then they would not have bothered seeing this at the cinema, and if they have half a brain then they would not buy it on video either. ...a lot of hype about the film because it is an original idea but i did not find it as scary as everyone said it would be. It depends what sort of horror films you are into. If you are scared by the psychological kinds of movies then this is the movie for you but if you are more into the gory kind, you will be disappointed.
