The Blair Witch Project is about three student filmmakers, or so they say, who are filming a documentary about the Blair Witch in Burkittesville, Maryland. However, they disappear without a trace. Anyone who has seen the Blair Witch project will know it is all about psycology...There is nothing in the movie that is actually scary, it is just what your imagination brings up in your head that gets you scared. The effect of this is amazing and should definately be considered a powerful movie because of this. The acting is really good and as soon as the movie starts, you forget that it isn't real and they aren't really having all this wierd stuff ...

The idea of BWP is not to scare the living hell out of you with a few cheap shocks and some nifty special effects. ...I might, I found that the footage looked a little 'too' raw, and my disbelief was firmly unsuspended throughout. To prove (to myself at least) that I wasn't just in a bad mood when I watched it first time, I bought it on DVD. An was just as unimpressed the second time round. Don't buy this DVD, its a waste of your Hard Earned Cash. Go watch a real hollywood big budget horror film instead... and that's from someone who hates big budget hollywood horror. ...

The Blair witch project, much ado about nothing? I first caught this film at the cinema, and thought although it was a different kind of film and highly original, it was lacking and sort of didn’t count as a film, it was rather like a fly on the wall documentary. I must say though the acting was spot on and totally believable, I think all the stories of people thinking it was real are justified because the characters play there parts so well. ...

The hype before The Blair Witch Project certainly gave it much to live up to. Some may even feel that it formed unrealistic expectations which then caused a feeling of disappointment at the conclusion of the film. I must say, however, that I was not disappointed. I found the film to be very realistic and though not the "slasher flick" some may have expected, it certainly was eerie enough to cause an array of unnerving and disconcerting feelings. ...
