Come With Me If You Want To Live

Advantages: Excellent Action Scenes, Classic Arnie Performance + More
Disadvantages: Lacks the outstanding storyline of its predecessors

...age I’ve seen all three terminator films and can honestly say I’m a big fan. Rise of the Machines is the latest installment in the terminator trilogy but does it compete against its predecessors? Well the first two movies were well crafted, with strong characters providing none-stop action. I really didn’t see the fuss with all the special effects to begin with, but for a film of its age the special effects of the first two movies were outstanding! ...
...Kate. According to the terminator they’re both married in the future and both play roles in defeating the machine army. I was a little surprised to see that the terminator doesn’t take orders from John anymore; instead his future spouse is in charge. Don’t expect as many classic Arnie comments as his programming does not incorporate the teachings by John Connor in the second movie. Partnered with Schwarzenegger and Kate they must triumph the beautiful ...

...that set the standard. When Terminator 2 was released in 1991, it set the standard for the summer blockbuster, raking in big money with it's world-renowned catchphrases and ground-breaking special effects. It finally brought worldwide recognition to the cult classic original Terminator (1984) and rightfully confirmed Arnold Schwarzenegger as the top box office draw in Hollywood after years of perseverance. However, in the twelve years that have ...
...the release of a third Terminator movie seemed almost inevitable. With Schwarzenegger attempting to recapture his star power, he has returned to his most famous role in an all-new special effects extravagaza. With a reported $170 million budget - $30 million for one fallen superstar alone - no expense has been spared on the production. There is obviously a strong belief that this movie can set the standards like it's predecessors. How things have ...

Unmissable Arnie Action

Advantages: Superb action sequences.
Disadvantages: Not many.

Terminator 3 is a "must see" for anyone who loves Arnold Schwarzenegger, or simply anyone who enjoys a good action movie. Plot: Terminator 3 (15 yrs and over) begins by showing the now adult John Connor (Nick Stahl), as he deals with life without his mother, and the constant pressing concern over whether the war between man and machines has been averted, or whether it is still to come. Enter two rather impressive terminators: good old Arnie, or ...
...tie in with the other terminator films, and raises Mr Schwarzenegger's grade on the old cool-ometer. Nit Picking: The scene where Arnie acquires his clothes from the bar with Ladies Night, and emerges wearing Elton John look alike glasses didn't quite work for me. Maybe it was the glasses, or lack of a noticeable soundtrack. (Unlike Terminator 2, where Arnie unfolded and put on his glasses and got on his motorbike to the sound of "Bad to the Bone"- ...

Advantages: More great action
Disadvantages: a little short of the previous 2

...in the year 2029 another terminator is sent back by Skynet to terminate John, after the previous failings in 1984 an 1987. This Terminator is a more advanced model called the T-X (played by the Kristanna Loken), the first female Terminator to grace the movies. The T-X having the ability to bring advanced weapons from the future hidden inside its frame and the amazing power of remotely controlling machines. We see Arnold Schwarzenegger playing ...
...again, as in T2 the terminator is also sent back from 2029 to protect the John Conner of 2004 and Johns wife, Katherine Brewster, (played by Claire Danes). In a bit of a twist to the entire story when the terminator finds John it explains what has happened to the John Conner of 2032, leaving the 2004 John Conner wondering how to deal with it. With Sarah Conner,(usually played by Linda Hamilton) not being in this sequel the explanation for that ...

...the 3rd instalment of The Terminator saga and it’s still respectable after the long gap between the second instalment. When John Conner and Sarah Conner postponed ‘Judgement Day’ from 1997 until 2003, they thought that cybernet had been destroyed and any trace of a dismal future. However, Terminator 3 follows a different path to the future, a path that follows exactly what they thought they had destroyed. This therefore means a lot more shiny metal ...
...a terminator is sent back in time to destroy the rebel leader John Conner. Who would be fairly intimidating if she wasn’t so sexy! She once again has skill superior to Arnie’s in that her arms can turn in to complex metal objects such as flame throwers and lock picks. Her soul purpose is to kill John and his lieutenants so that there is no resistance against the machines when they arise. The plot is gripping throughout the film but not as well directed ...

...task of carrying on the Terminator legacy. I wonder if Mostow's face will still be intact when the critics get through with this movie? At the end of the film, you may feel like your in the "Twilight-Zone". You won't know if the world will soon end, or if humans are going to eventually prevail in the war against the machines (definitely disappointing). Don't be surprised to see people walking out of this movie a little shocked at the conclusion of ...
...keep up the tradition of Terminator movies. You’ll have to see them to get the chuckle, but the timing is so lame that if you look around the theater you’ll most likely see some disgusted people. Ok, this is a movie that you don’t want to miss. Don’t expect to be blown away. After all, how often is a movie loved and followed after the 1st sequel? Not often. For a 3rd rendition of the Terminator, we should all be happy that ...

Contining the Epic Story....

Advantages: John Connor, T-800
Disadvantages: Evil T-X

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines Directed by…. Jonathan Mostow Arnold Schwarzenegger .... Terminator Nick Stahl .... John Connor Claire Danes .... Kate Brewster Kristanna Loken .... T-X Plot The plot is once again of the same ilk as the other 2 movies. A terminator, the T-X, is sent back to destroy, not John Connor this time (after 2 failed attempts) but rather all 26 of Conner’s future Lieutenants. She starts to complete her mission, but after ...
...T-X is the most sophisticated Terminator the series has seen and she had lots of impressive tricks up her sleeve, and she executes them chillingly like a killing machine should. Movie as a whole I was surprisingly taken with this film. I approached it with a sense of dread (it can’t be any good, can it?) but actually… Yes, It can. The first was the best and a classic, the second was way up there, and this third instalment, while lacking dramatic ...

...best in my opinion) the Terminator series has perhaps unfortunatly gone from the gritty horror style of the original to a more mainstream action type film like the second one. This is a shame, if I were to be honest and perhaps stops it from being a classic for me. It of course makes commercial sense because more people will see the film. I did have to sit behind some annoying teens and kids being a 12a in my showing but they failed to spoil it for ...

The plot essentially revolves around this basis, with it turning out ...

...along and ruins it? The Terminator films peaked with James Cameron’s second instalment in 1991. The action was slick, the storyline reasonably believable and the effects groundbreaking but not overbearing. Terminator 3: Rise of the machines was a mistake. T3 - Judgement Day has moved

Advantages: Great S-FX and good use of humour
Disadvantages: Not a lot new here

Terminator 3 is pretty much what you expect, near indestructable cyborgs sent back from the future to destroy/save one John Conner. This time round however there are other targets to be terminated. This is of course all in the name of effecting the future war between men and machines. The movie starts with Skynet sending back an advanced new terminator, the T-X, played by Kristanna Loken, Arnie of course plays the reprogrammed older model T101 sent ...

Following on from T2: Judgement day, the movie looks at fate (can we change it or are some things inevitable) but unlike last movie the answer is perhaps but maybe not by much. On a less deep note you can expect the same sort of happenings from the first two movies with numerous set pieces between ...

"It absolutely will not stop"

Advantages: Arnie back doing what he does best.
Disadvantages: Bit short, not as good as the prequels.

Firstly, is Terminator 3 as good as Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day? No it isn’t. Taken as a ‘Terminator Movie’, it’s quite possibly the weakest of the trilogy. Taken in it’s own right Terminator 3 is a fantastic, explosive action movie which often shows signs of the true brilliance that made the two prequels the modern classics that they are. We are introduced to a new John Connor – not a bright eyed ...

Good, but not great, like the first two films

Advantages: Good action, fast paced, mildly entertaining
Disadvantages: a parody of the first two films, nothing original, poor characters

Rise of the Machines was a disappointing effort, in the context of the first two movies in the franchise which were both excellent. T3 has its moments, there are some very well put together action sequences, and its a fast paced film in general. Nick Stahl is a great actor, but he was mis-cast as John Connor. Claire Danes as his "sidekick" was equally forgettable. Its virtually impossible to care about these characters. The "Termanatrix" isn't a ...
...T-800 in the first movie. Arnie, God Bless Him, isn't very convincing as the now pensionable Terminator, the character has changed beyond recognition since the first film. The whole thing feels like a rehash, or parody of the first two, there are no new ideas, nothing we haven't seen before, or seen done better in previous instalments. That said, its reasonable entertaining, and its not a bad film by any means. Worth catching on TV, not worth buying ...

Good Film

Advantages: Arnold Schwartznegger, story line

...Michael Douglas. This time, the Terminator talks a lot. He's downright chatty. He has to explain what happened in THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY. Someone also has to explain the dull, convoluted network, Skynet, that will cause the rise of the machines and the takeover of the planet to the audience and update the technical advances of the T-X over the previous T-1000 (Robert Patrick). No star wants to be responsible for "exposition," ...
...only one purpose. Thankfully, The Terminator only talks while firing a grenade-launcher or carrying a casket. Are we still waiting for Judgment Day? Screenwriters John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris (writers of David Fincher's complex, smart movie The Game, starring the aforementioned Michael Douglas) do not bother refining, or, for that matter, deepening the Terminator bible. That would be like updating The Koran. Instead, we have all the set ...

Disadvantages: A shocking waste of a superb franchise.

...who have never seen a Terminator movie - yes, apparently you exist, maybe you've been on Mars the last twenty years, I don't know. Never let it be said, however, I don't cater to my audience: In Terminator 1, we are introduced in 1984 to Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), your common-or-garden waitress just making a living. Set in 1994, John (The floppy-haired Eddie Furlong) is now a rebellious young tearaway, whilst Sarah got put away in the nuthouse for talking about robot killing machines all day. With machine-like stubborness, Skynet sends back another Terminator to take a second pop at killing John - but here's the kick ...

...right, Arnie is back, in Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, but with one or two changes. No more Sarah Connor and her teenage son, John, is now well on the way to manhood. But, who gives a stuff about humans, when it's the machines you really want to see in action.
