...after The Matrix Reloaded was Terminator 3 – Rise of the Machines or T3. Once again Arnold Schwarzenegger is back as the bad robot turned good.
The plot is in most ways is a re run of T2 but just a few years into the future with Arnie sent back to protect John Connor from a more advanced Terminator - the TX with cool new nano remote control technology and other stuff- and to stop the rise of Skynet. This time the adversary is a female. The ... ...of T2 and then we get into the action or rather we don’t. The action doesn’t really appear until a good while into the movie. Until then we see the two Terminators arrive and the balance of this section is used to flesh out what’s been happening in the gap years, to introduce the other main characters and give you plot pointers for the rest of the movie. Instead of going for John Connor directly, who is this time played by Nick ...

Advantages: Great movie, Great action Disadvantages: Lacking in storyline
When I was a kid, terminator 2 was one of my favourite movies. It still is! So when I heard they were making Terminator 3, about 4 years before it came out, I was looking forward to it with great expectation.
It only just lived up to what I wanted. It was a great movie, but I feel like they’ve been making me wait 4 years to see it! I love the Terminator series, the idea of machines taking over the world. The music is another thing I love, I went ... ...the WB logo and the terminator music. It proceeded to melt into liquid metal, then re-form as a gigantic T. 3 was then cut from it with a blue laser. Nothing else was said, on to the next trailer. But the audience knew what it was, different people got it at different times. Everyone was thinking “where have I heard that before?” This is what makes the expectation so high, we’ve seen what they can do, we know about the terminators, now give us a ...

...the third installment of the Terminator series. In the first Terminator movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the bad terminator sent back in time to kill Sarah O'Connor (played by Linda Hamilton) to stop her from giving birth to John O'Connor. Obviously he failed in his role as Terminator.

So, why Terminator 3? Well, guess there is always a way of elongating an already told story, by changing the ending.

So, now John O'Connor has grown up into a young man, who is still afraid of the future and what it held. So, what does he do? Be a bump of course! ...trilogies, the instalments in the Terminator saga are both self-contained features and parts of a larger whole. But then 'Terminator' isn't really a 'trilogy' is it? The biggest clue is the time gaps between releases, which arouse the suspicion that the continuation of the series is more the result of profitability than a preconcieved 'epic design'. And this itself is obvious since the plots of all 3 films bear an identical premise: John Connor, ... ...'Rise' of the title without a fall and other factors which it may spoil the film to reveal make the Terminator films to date seem more like a prelude than a trilogy. ...become a US Governor).
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is the long expected (rather than long awaited) follow up to Terminator 2, with the ongoing telling of the future legend of Man v Machine in a winner takes all fight to the finish, with the latest invulnerable man machine (or in this particular case woman machine) hunting down John Connor, he who would single handedly save mankind from the wrath of the cybermen.
The press and the hype machine ... ...up to. The first Terminator film, with Arnie as the bad guy (or bot), was ground breaking and powerful, evoking all sorts of cult fandom for its epitome of cult cool, and spawning a thousand copyists. T2 had the benefit of a lapsed few years and the advent of new found computer wizardry to leave the bad bot of the title looking all shiny and new, and fleshy and evil (although he got his in the end). The two of them are epics of their kind, building ...

Advantages: Admittedly one of the best action movies this year. Disadvantages: You've probably seen it all before. Lacks a neccessary softness.
...With the release of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines – a part of the Terminator action movie franchise – the surly characteristics of this fiction world are once again exemplified. Last time around, in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day, audiences over the globe were exposed to a fast paced, continuously revolving storyline that eventually left a strong emotional impact. Before that, in 1984, there was the original Terminator, which shook theatres ... ...in some more cash. The Terminator series used to be innovative, now it’s just a plodding rehash. Although it is exciting to watch because the story is relatively interesting and isn’t of an absurd 'Jason X' type, one sincerely wonders how long before this saga can finally be put to rest. If a nuclear holocaust isn’t enough to stop 'T4'… what is?
