...saying I am A HUGE Tenacious D fan. Loved the HBO stuff, I own both albums & the other DVD. This film has some of the D's history but there just aren't enough new ideas to keep it going. This was a hilarious movie, which may even be called a rock musical. With an entertaining storyline, the humour provided by Tenacious D and a host of guest cameos will make this movie one to watch.

Advantages: Hilarious and great songs
Disadvantages: A lot of swearing

...those of you who are tenacious D fans this film is truly worthwhile buying. It starts of with a young Jack Black who is the rude rebel in his christian family, with Meat Loaf as his father. ...view of knowing nothing about Tenacious D, but being a fan of Jack Black in School of Rock, and enjoying spoofs such as Spinal Tap, Wayne's World and Bill and Ted. So, based on the above, it seemed reasonable to rent this DVD. I thought I was in for a treat. What a mistake. Great film, very funny and awesome songs; the ending could have been better though. Fantastic cameos too, but I would have to advise keeping the kids away, the language is very strong.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass. This is one of the funniest films I have seen for a long time. Full of drugs, sex and rock and roll. Both me and my husband were laughing our heads off. Cameo appearances by Meatloaf and Tim Robbins and Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters as the Devil had me in stitches. The film Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny Is one of the best films i have seen in a long time, if you want to have a quick laugh on the weekend with a bowl of popcorn and a bag of malteasers this is a film to watch. Disadvantages: Doesn't quite reach the potential i feel it could have

If you like films full of cheap jokes mainly relating to farting and the F word, together with full on rock and roll musical comedy, then you'll like this. If your more about original, breakthrough comedy that has witty lines and more constructed jokes this probably isnt your cup of tea. ...narrated through original songs by Tenacious D that were created just for this movie. The characters sing through arguments, adventures, and to narrate their actions.
