Advantages: surreal whilst familiar, soundtrack, strong characters Disadvantages: reliance on certain characters
Teachers is a program set in and around an English school called Smmerdown Comprehensive. It is based on a group of teachers who have all the maturity and sense of the children that they are supposed to be teaching, exibiting all the neurotic, paranoid and self-obsessing characteristics of their younger counterparts. Simon is an english teacher from whose perspective a lot of the program is seen. He is arguably the most child-like and often goes ... ...of the show (that the teachers are just like the children).
The soundtrack was excellently compiled as it captures at the same time the sound that teenagers (and hence the main characters) might listen to and also the whole mood of the program, that of a cheerful, upbeat and simple life. This means it works really well with the show itself.
The first and third series are both fairly good but the second series is far better than both of them. This ...
