Good spin on a poor ride

Advantages: Queen Latifah
Disadvantages: Poor plot

...to get her New York taxi licence, so imagine her despair when she picks up an incompetent cop called Washburn, who tries to foil a bank robbery, but ends up getting her into all sorts of trouble, both with the police and her boyfriend. With nowhere to go for the night, she ends up having to sleep over at Washtub's and becomes more involved in trying to stop the bank robbery than she would otherwise have liked. Will she keep her taxi licence, and, ...
...persuade his lieutenant that he doesn't deserve to be given the sack? Queen Latifah stars in this film as Belle, and frankly, without her, this film would have totally bombed. As it is, she saves it, but only just. I haven't seen her in many films, but she does have the most amazing screen presence and an ability to make me laugh without doing or saying anything particularly funny. As Belle, she is a feisty go-getter who just won't give up and in ...

...up with a newly qualified taxi driver (Belle Williams) and her super charged and modified taxi cab after flagging it down to attempt to stop bank thieves. After the initial chase Andy gets suspended and the taxi cab is confiscated from Belle because of all the modifications present. The film then concentrates on the plight of both Andy and Belle, will Andy catch the beautiful Brazilian bank thieves and will Belle get her taxi back to do it with? ...
...but from this performance in Taxi I am mystified to how she could have ever been nominated for an Oscar. In addition Jimmy Fallon who played Washburn was even worse in his attempts to make some of the poor jokes appear funny. Also the Brazilian bank robbers appeared to find it hard to speak English, perhaps this was just meant to be put on but it was very frustrating listening to the attempts. As I have already said this film was modeled on the ...

Taxi - A once watch film.

Advantages: Very high paced, Some good Humour, Music and A lot of the acting is very good.

,.-¬*''*¬-.,¸¸,.- Taxi (2004) -.,¸¸,.-¬*''*¬-., Taxi is a hilarious action film directed by Tim Story, set in and around New York city in America, brought to us by 20th Century Fox. Taxi is an American re-make of the original French "Taxi" created by Luc-Besonn, which was a major hit across France. The film has a 15 rating, the box saying it had Moderate language and Sex references, I noticed a lot of the mild language but that was really it. Queen ...
...what's more, she and her taxi get let go. During the car chases, the police were chasing the Bank Robbers car, but they didn't seem at all interested in a supercharged Taxi following the Bank Robbers car at speeds over 100 mph through the city! The limit for me was when Belle changed the steering wheel while driving down a crowded street over 100 mph, without even taking a glance at the road. As for the humour, it takes an acquired taste to appreciate ...

Taxi - A cheap thrill ride

...who has a souped up Taxi Cab that she finally gets her Taxi license to be able to go out and take paying customers for rides in and Jimmy Fallon, who plays a unlucky NY cop, detective Washburn. They end up meeting up when Washburn, apparently for the third time totals a police car and in doing so ruins a bodega, which costs the police department 1000s and leads to him losing his driving license, so when he hears about a local robbery taking place, ...
...of her otherwise normal yellow taxi cab into a souped up boy racer car that can fly through the traffic and undoubtedly must be breaking the speed limit, whatever that is! after that, Belle finds herself having to work with Washburn to try and track down the robbers so she can get her taxi back (as the police have to keep it for ballistics evidence when Washburn fires a shot in it) . This movie isn't so great as far as storyline is concerned and ...

Funny for the 15 year olds..

Advantages: Funny, more of a Teen Movie
Disadvantages: A bit too "sameish" as everything else

...once a courier, now a Taxi Driver. With one of the biggest superchargers (I've ever seen) bolted onto the engine of her high powered Taxi, she's off and away, escorting people through New York's city streets at speeds upwards of 135 miles per hour! Then along comes Detective Andy Washburn (Jimmy Fallon) the young, handsome cop that for some reason is one of the best Detectives but one of the worst drivers in the Big Apple. He's after four sexy ...
...him pursue the crooks and teach him how to drive. Together, Belle and Washburn go on a dangerous game of cat and mouse to catch the beautiful bad girls. The films starts off well, with some lovely stunts and some good humour. However, it all slightly goes downhill and begins to remind you of your average American Teen Movie. The script is just too unoriginal and their "twists" are exactly what we're sitting on our sofa expecting. I think the "15" ...

...in modern cinema. By comparison, Taxi robs blind from inferior movies and dials up cliches, like Speed's impossible freeway launch, only without any kind of a build up. A chase is only exciting if we care about the hunter, or the hunted. The film begins with a motorcycle courier screaming through New York, pulling off all kinds of fantastic stunts, zipping from one location to another. After a spectacular climax to the sequence, we are sucker-punched ...
...employment is to become a taxi driver and she's been saving for years to build the ultimate cab, with near ridiculous modifications and speed demon horsepower under the bonnet. How does she afford it? Who cares? Not the writers, that's for sure, and we've got 90 minutes of inane drivel to go. In this unexciting entry into the buddy-movie genre, the other party is a hopeless cop, Washburn (Jimmy Fallon). He blows busts, causes accidents and has just ...
