...very big cash cow. Superman was made over twenty years ago now and it's still as good as it was back then. Sure the effects might not stand up to today's standards but one thing this has is character. ...plays it straight, inventing a superman and giving him some bad guys to fight. The film isn't imagined as distinctively as Tim Burton's "Batman", but it does deliver what it promises, except for the sf trope which most annoys me: after Lois Lane dies, Superman simply has time go backwards so it didn't really happen. This is cheating - as I've said before, if someone dies I expect them to stay dead. Otherwise "Superman" is a watchable, fun film ...
