I was rather surprised that I actually enjoyed this comedy and I found it to be witty and quite sharp in some of the lines that the characters delivered, it had a very grown up feel to it that I did not expect based upon the cover of the DVD and the cast list. The basic premise is fairly predictable for a teen comedy, ever since Porkies and probably before that the teen obsession with getting laid has proved fertile ground for comedy writers. Seth ... ...plan to get two girls Becca and Jules hopelessly drunk at a party so they can take advantage of them, outsiders normally they are excited to get an invite to the party in the first place, however getting the alcohol for two under age students is a tough task and goes wrong from the outset. Cast List Jonah Hill ... Seth Michael Cera ... Evan Christopher Mintz-Plasse ... Fogell Bill Hader ... Officer Slater Seth Rogen ... Officer Michaels Martha MacIsaac ...

Advantages: Mclovin! Disadvantages: Slow, boring & not funny
Superbad is a film written by Seth Rogen (Knocked Up), I wasn't too keen on Knocked Up but I was told this was very good so decided to give it a try & bought it on DVD.
The film consists of a very basic plotline in. It's about 3 friends who are the most unpopular kids at school who are invited to a party by a girl one of them fancies. Their nerdy friend Fogell tells them that he plans to get a fake ID the 2 friends decide that this is a perfect ... ...party which they're hoping they will lose their virginity at, they'll supply the alcohol. Things go wrong immediately as one of the boys car is towed for parking in the wrong place then when Fogell arrives with his fake ID they are embarrassed when they find out he as adopted the name 'Mclovin'. The boys are doubtful that the checkout assistant will accept Fogell's ID so they decide to do the only thing they can do, shoplift vast amounts of alcohol… ...

Advantages: Very funny, good acting Disadvantages: Aimed quite specifically at teenagers, quite crude humour
'Superbad' is a teen comedy film that follows the lives of two teenage guys - Seth and Evan- who are desperate to shake off their "uncool" status and lose their virginity before heading to college after summer. When they are invited to a big party at school, they offer to buy alcohol and seem on their way to what they want. With the help of their friend Fogell aka "McLovin" (who is even uncooler than Seth and Evan it seems), they set off to buy the ... ...new fake ID - one of my personal favourites! As predicted, the boys' party plans do not go smoothly and they end up in a bit of a situation. The final ending is a happy one though :) Advantages of this film - the cast and acting is great, in my opinion, particularly the characters of Fogell and Evan. It really is believable that these guys are just slightly odd, high school misfits. The plot is easily relatable to teens which is what makes it so ...

Advantages: none, its awful Disadvantages: every second of it
There's bad and there's super bad. This is just plain awful. think of the worst parts of Napoleon Dynamite and thats still better than this. Target audiences are males from 17-25. Anyone older than that is going to hate this. I don't know about the show these people were in but none of the actors are funny. None of the scenes or plots are funny, most are gross, lewd or sexually pointless. This is a movie for 15 year old boys. They'll love it! Generally ... ...you can call it a plot) and dull stuff.
Now the cops that knock the main kid over and then pull a GUN on him? WHY? He has no reason to pull his weapon at all! These guys are having the worst night they could possibly have, so much going wrong for them, sidetracking them. Now the guy turning down not only a blow job but sex as well? Is he gay or just insane? So she's had a few drinks but he's still saying no, their potraying an unrealistic idea of ...

Advantages: Unique Disadvantages: Long and drawn out- quite boring
I really cant believe that there are so many good reviews for this film! I bought this film off box office on Friday night and I was sorely dissapointed. Now dont get me wrong I love comedy's especially the silly kind - I loved zoo lander and i think Wedding Crashers is the best one out there at the moment.

Seth and Evan are two highschool kids - they like to drink and Seth in particular wants to get laid. He previously had a really ... ...far too early. Seth and Evan have been best friends since elementary school, but there friendship has been tested because Evan got accepted into a really good college and Seth didnt. So the story starts 3 weeks away from Graduation with plenty of parties of happening and neither invited to any of them. They happen to get invited to one last minute and with Seth's revalation that he has a fake ID - they are asked to get the drink for the party.

Advantages: Incredibly funny and creative use of language Disadvantages: Your sides may hurt with all the laughing
Okay, so what we have here is a film with next to no narrative whatsoever - in essence, just a couple of horny high school friends going on a mission to provide alcohol for a graduation party in hope of losing their virginity. And yet it works. The 'let's get laid' scenario has been set many times before but never with such pant-wetting appeal. Who needs a decent plot when you have dialogue as sharp as an Uma Thurman - wielded samurai sword? It is ... ...I did not stop laughing from start to finish.
From the makers of The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up and starring Jonah Hill (Seth) and Michael Cera (Evan), a riotous laugh-fest ensues as the principals plough their ways from one scene to the next. Christopher Mintz-Plasse playing Uber-geek Fogell steals the show, however. He creates a driver's license that states his age as twenty-five, his address as Hawaii and his name (just the one) as 'McLovin'. ...

Advantages: the "eye candy" provided by mclovin Disadvantages: the rest of the film
The film, if you can even call this distasteful, plotless gimmick a film is about a group of teenagers who are trying to buy alcohol for a party. Unfortunately this is where the plot ends. There was very little substance to this film and it seemed to rely on crude vulgarity as a rather poor substitute for real humour. On many occasions I was forced to leave the room due to the severe embarrassment caused by the pathetic attempts at comedy. One particularly ... ...boys leg "as a tampon". I felt this was most inappropriate content for a 15 rated "family" film and it caused my to almost retch with disgust. I would like to express my moral and social outrage that such a film should even be allowed to be made. It seems the world is in a sorry state that so many reviewers find this tiresome vileness acceptable and even entertaining. It is my belief that such a film should carry a warning for people with a weak ...

...pleasure to watch with others, Superbad is definantly a funny movie with lots of laughs and good humor and of course its about sex and alcohol. The soundtrack makes a superb assistance to the movie and some are well know such as "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "Grandma's Boy", and the classic "Animal House".
At any point in the movie the characters and especially Seth will make rude and nasty comments to other people and still get away with making me ... ...screw anyone over for sex, but will not screw over Evan.
Evan is the geeky character who has a girl madly that wants to screw him also he is a dork with the classical way of talking in a low voice and dress and walking a bit odd, he is also the character that can run fast. Fugell is a very strange character who talks very odd with a pair of big lips and kinda of funny humor, he is great for this movie and is a character which should be definantly ...

Advantages: Funny. Short easy to watch film. Disadvantages: For me, Seth Rogen!
...I really enjoyed it!
Superbad stars Jonah Hill as Seth and Micael Cera as Evan who have promised to take some alcohol to a party and the film mainly revolves around them trying to find some alcohol to take to the party to impress the girls!! The other side to the film is their friend Fogell aka McLovin played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse who, after obtaining fake ID was caught up in a robbery at the liquor store and ended up getting a ride with two ... ...My explanation really doesn't do the film justice. It really is a very funny film and although revolves around teenage life, can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The film is approximately 108 mins long. The extras on the DVD include deleted and extended scenes, gag ree, cop car confessions and commentary with filmmakers and the cast.
This is definetly the best "teen" flick I have seen, much funnier than American Pie. If you like a good laugh and ...

Advantages: Funny, Witty, Good use of camera angles Disadvantages: Soundtrack isn't the best
Superbad is a film aimed at teenagers therefore the scenes in the film are rather risqué. However, the film is very funny in my opinion using witty jokes as well as visual gags. I would recommend this film to people with either; a flexible sense of humour or are of the college age. The film follows three teenagers who are about to leave high school. They desperately want to get a girlfriend. They find out about a party and decide to go; they have ... ...- they are all underage! It is up to Fogle (who has obtained a fake ID) to purchase the alcohol. However things start to go wrong as he is attacked in the off license and the police arrive. His two friends assume that he has been caught being underage so they flee. Fogle and the officers get up to many fun things such as shooting stop signs and speeding through red lights. Will they get to the party in time with the alcohol? Find out! I would not ...

...guys who made the film! Superbad is like a more realistic American pie and i would even say just as funny in places.
It's a story i'm sure a lot of guys can relate to, its about 2 best friends; Seth (Jonah) and Evan (Michael Cera) getting ready to move on to college after just finishing school. They want to get the girls they like and will do anything to impress them. The DVD starts with funky music and the boys having a conversation about a porn ... ...for a big party. Sounds simple enough but there's a lot of laughs along the way, they decide to get the help of their friend Fogell who has a fake I.D as McLovin. As it gets harder and harder and seems more and more impossible to get hold of the alcohol it gets funnier and funnier. The police in this movie make it worth watching and are the best in any comedy film ever, for me they make the film, they are played by Seth Rogen and Bill Hader.

Superbad leads the life of two teenagers (Seth and Evan) who are about to graduate from high school. Friends for many years, people start to make questions, as Evan gets accepted into Dartmouth, whereas Seth doesn't, and so has to attend the local state university. Jules (a classmate whom Seth is attracted to), invites them to her party, along with Fogell, who had recently got a fake ID. Unable to say no, Jules asks Seth to take alcohol along to ... ...finds out that Fogell has called himself "McLovin" (a 25 year old organ donor), he is sure that the ID wouldn't work, and so they wouldn't have any way of getting the alcohol. In the end, Seth and Evan send Fogell into the store anyway. Very nervous, he manages to make his way to the desk with all the alcohol, just before being knocked unconscious by a thief. Evan and Seth, however, don't see the robbery outside, and so 'freak out' when they see ...

I must have sat through 2 hours of total rubbish, it had its funny parts, probably totalling about 2 minutes if that & the rest was just crap.Maybe its cus I'm British & just don't get half the jokes we have sat through American Pie and other American comedy films & see alot of funny stuff….I dunno it just didn't seem that funny. Not as funny as people said it would be. The lead character, Seth, in my opinion would have suited Jack Black & not Jonah Hill who has been in other flicks such as Click & The 40 Year Old Virgin. So if you was thinking of getting this then if I was you I wouldn't bother. The trailer is more appealing. ...

Advantages: McLovin! 'Normal' and funny! Disadvantages: Not for the sensitive - might be too crude for some
I hadn't seen any previews when I stumbled across this film, but I think if I had, I might not have watched it! On paper, it is not my kind of film but it is so much more than it sounds. It is hard to sum up this film and do justice to just how funny it is! Some of the 'mishaps' are perhaps a little too far-fetched, but (without wanting to sounding too soppy), this story of high school graduation and the associated pressures was easier to relate ... ...and their relationships seemed 'normal,' this is probably why the synopsis sounds slightly dull, after all, it's just about a group of boys trying to get alcohol for a party! You don't have to watch this film on a deep level. It is just funny! The one-liners, the reactions and, dare I say, the crudeness, make this film a great 2 hours. ...

5 Stars for me! I thought this film was BRILLIANT, I'm a 15 year old boy and I really do think the audience that the film is aimed at is teenage boys, due to it's sexual comedy and the three main characters of Seth, Evan and Fogell who are teenage high school students themselves. The plot is Fogell getting a Fake ID of which he is able to buy alcohol with which of course leeds to parties and DRUNK GIRLS, basically, a boys dream! Buy This Film! If you can get it for £5.22 that's a steal!
Thanks. ...
