Wish Upon A Star

Advantages: Fantastic adventure for the whole family
Disadvantages: None

...I can again say about Stardust that this IS my film of the YEAR! Stardust is a film I kept putting off, not for any dislike, but simply because I felt I might enjoy the movie and that personally I feel it was released at the wrong time. I suspected that Stardust would be a Christmas film, and having just finished watching it, I feel my original view was correct. Stardust is a magnificent movie for the whole family, it does not matter whether your ...
...if you watch Stardust and don't enjoy at least 75% of it then you really don't have a pulse. When Dunstan Thorn decides to defy the rules that their village runs by in respect to a wall that surrounds it and cross through, his quest for the unknown and adventure lands him nine months later with a child called Tristan. Now an adult Tristan (Charlie Cox) too has a quest for adventure, his adventure however is restricted to his village; Tristan has ...

Advantages: Brilliant story, brilliant actors, plenty of action and adventure
Disadvantages: A bit long

...I saw the trailers for Stardust on television I was captivated, a smattering of famous faces, tales of far away lands and treasures, right up my street. Although I didn't really plan to go and see it, lack of time, money and motivation. But I was pleasantly surprised when my boyfriend called me on Thursday morning and asked if I wanted to go to the Premier of Stardust that evening at 5.15pm. It was a bit of a push but I finished work a bit earlier ...
...Luckily my boyfriend had booked the tickets because when we arrived the queue was out the door, cinemas always seem to start all their films at the same time. But we didn't have to wait we just went to the ticket collection point, this is a slightly worrying idea like the Tesco self service checkouts used to be, you simply but you card into a slot, them remove it and out pop your tickets. We went to find our seats, I was surprised about the small ...

Star light, star bright!

Advantages: Great cast and plot
Disadvantages: A bit predictable towards the end

...==The Plot== Stardust is based on the original novel by author Neil Gaiman and directed by Matthew Vaughn. The film is based around a small village called Wall, it's name coming from a wall nearby that is a passage into another magical world. The future father of Tristan manages to get passed the wall guard and ends up falling for a slave girl of a local witch. Nine months later the wall guard arrives with a basket containing baby Tristan! The film ...

This brings him to promise her the recently fallen star they have just seen. Victoria gives Tristan a week to bring the star to her and only then will she be his. On the other side of the wall in the village of Stronghold the King is on his deathbed and attended to by his remaining sons, all eager to take his crown. ...

Are we human becuase we gaze at the stars?

Advantages: Sweet story, good actors, fun to watch.
Disadvantages: Very predictable.

I have just gotten around to watching this film today and was actually amazed that there were reviews already. I'm 16 and PG always tends to put me off watching films but I decided I'd go as it was something to do, I loved it. I think the main reason I loved this movie was because of the amazing actors that were involved and the new actors that shone brightly in it (no pun intended). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Plot The film starts ...

There he meets a princess, who is captured by a witch and will only be free when the witch is dead. He arrives back in Wall and 9 months later he gets a present from the princess, a baby boy called Tristan. 18 years later Tristan has fallen in love with Victoria. On the week before her ...

♫ Waiting for a star to fall ♫

Advantages: great storyline, very captivating and well filmed
Disadvantages: not as publicised as I would have expected

I was invited to the cinema with my mum and sister today and had little else to do so went along with them. When I asked about the film they replied 'Stardust' as if I had heard of it before. THE FILM -------------------- The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn and is based on Neil Gaiman's Novel 'Stardust'. It is a fantasy film and if I had known the basic plot before being invited along I would not have bothered…that aside however the film is ...
...PLOT -------------- At first the scene in the 19th century planetarium gave me a few doubts and thought the film would be like a version of Dr Who with lots of green aliens (I suppose that is what you get when you don't read the reviews before you go) but was pleasantly surprised. I soon became captivated when we were introduced to the little town of 'Wall' appropriately named after the surrounding wall. The surrounding wall protects a 'secret ...

I did want to see this at the cinemas when I saw if first come out, except I was too busy and I couldn't arrange anything, so I waited for it to be released on DVD, but still that was expensive so I waited and waited until it became 3 for £20 in HMV and we managed 2 other DVDs to go with it, and bought it. This film happens to be directed by: Matthew Vaughn Matthew is a film director and a producer; ...

Advantages: A good fun film with plenty of action and effects

I have not written many movie reviews simply because there are plenty of people writing on here that do a really great job in this category and to be honest I really don't get the time to sit and watch many films. I mainly end up seeing films with the kids and having 2 boys aged 9 and 11 they are not really anything a women would really be into! ...Transformers, The Simpson's movie and Pirates of the Caribbean. Lucky me I got to see them all! Then I saw adverts for this film and really fancied seeing it but as it looked more like a fairy tale the boys weren't that keen and by the time I got around to persuading them the film was gone from the cinema. So I decided to get it on DVD and watch it on my own in peace and quiet, this has happened to me once before with the film Nanny Mcphee and It ...

This film shines!

Advantages: Great characters and imaginative storyline
Disadvantages: None to note!!

You may be surprised to know that the director responsible for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels put his hand to this brilliant fantasy film! Matthew Vaughn has proved that he can cope with different genres. It is co-written than Jane Goldman, the red-haired wife of Jonathan Ross too! It was released in October 2007, and has a wealth of stars sharing their talents in it. Set in an Old English village, a young man named Tristan spends his time ...

Eager Tristan, attempts to venture into the mysterious and unknown kingdom of Stormhold, which is separated from the village of Wall (aptly named so because of the crumbled old wall that defines the line between the two kingdoms) by a single old man from the village. After finding out that his ...

Stardust - small film that offers great pleasure

Advantages: Everything fits together, good story
Disadvantages: No astonishing effects

Stardust is a fantasy story from the magical land, which created one of the most popular autor Neil Gaiman. This fiction is not like Lord Of The rings - This is a small story where are no great battles, weird monsters and well built mythology. There is a lot of humor and lots of amazing persons. Autor was personally helping to create this film and that is a good point for me at least. The story begins in a village, where flathead Tristan promises ...

Great is that everything fits together and i felt that it took a lot of time to make it so perfect. Even the humor is good enough so there are moments where you will smile. Stardust is not an expensive film so there are not many outstanding effects but everything is balanced by astonishing ...

...wickedly egotistical characters. Stardust really does appeal to all. When I saw it there was a great mix of people in the audience, both young and old. The story gives us Action, drama, witches, magic, love, lust, witches, flying pirates and all within a timeframe that is just about perfect unlike Pirates of the Caribbean for example which felt bloated. Best Movie of the year!

Advantages: nice Story, for young and old
Disadvantages: -

Hello everybody... I will write about a film, which is beautiful, super and completely convinced us. One should perhaps mention the Cover, although you see it above. It addressed me, but my boyfriend was sceptical first and was for weeks against watching this film. The Cover works mysterious, somehow magically. The title does the rest. I expected a creative Fantasyfilm á la " The golden compass". Dunstan Thorn lives in Wallt, a small village, which ...

In order to win their heart, he promises her to get the star, they saw falling down however in the Feenland. In the place, where the star fell ...
