While out on routine training maneuvers, a starship encounters a powerful and supposedly exiled foe from the distant past--Khan (Ricardo Montalban). Only Admiral Kirk (William...
more...Shatner) and his crew can stop the MOBY DICK-quoting, vengeance-crazed genius from bringing about universal destruction in this warp-speed thrill ride. This second STAR TREK film is a continuation of the plotline begun in episode 27 of the original series--The Space Seed--and also expertly sets the stage for the next installment with the forboding presence of the Genesis device.

Khan Is Back And Not A Happy Chappie
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by bonsi6337

Advantages: It is Star Trek for Trekkies
Disadvantages: Kirstie Alley's performance

...is the second of 10 Star Trek films spanning 30 years. This can be picked up on blah.com for as little as £5.99 (P&P free as well!). We certainly havent paid that little for it as my husband gets these DVDs sent to him as part of a collection, along with some really informative magazines (if you are into Star Trek that is - me I just find them boring!) Anyway, I digress. An so on to the review.... Synopsis ~~~~~~~~ For those of you who watched ... Read review

Not so cold dish
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by rikardo

Advantages: Khan
Disadvantages: extras???

...crazy for rating a 20-year-old Star Trek film (1982) so highly. Some fans of the show would agree and do place “The Wrath of Khan” all-time number one film of the series. For me, it is simply (with the exception of perhaps First Contact) the most exciting, colourful and rewarding instalment yet. This has great deal to do with the title villain. Khan (played by Ricardo Montalban in gloriously satisfying fashion) is simply “the” definitive Star Trek ... Read review

Revenge is a dish that is best served cold.....
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by superpricee

Advantages: It's great
Disadvantages: I'll think of one someday

...lost it. He's wrote a Star Trek film op, and now he's about to do so with the other 8 films. Well fear not my chums, I'm only going to op this one. For now, that is..... Star Trek II was generally considered by most Trekkers to be the best of the Trek films until First Contact, and it set a precedent that still generally stands today - even numbered Trek films are good, odd numbered ones are not so good (or in the case of Trek V, positively awful ... Kirk, My Old Friend
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by TheNeil

Advantages: Best of the bunch
Disadvantages: Hmmm

Given the first Star Trek movie, you have to wonder why the entire franchise wasn't led out to the barn and shot. Such a slow effects-laden film that it almost stupefied the brain. It wasn't the most auspicious of starts for the Enterprise's big screen journeys and if they were to get things back on course, the good folks at Paramount were going to have to do something pretty special. I mean, truth be told, who actually wants to see a bunch of geriatrics ... Read review

Khant you kill Kirk
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by Simoncook1

Advantages: Very good plot (for a change)
Disadvantages: May confuse if you haven't seen original episode

...I wrote loadsa ops on Star Trek; I thought I had covered them all so imagine my surprise when I found out that I missed out on one of the better movies in the series! After watching all of the movies so far, I feel that Star Trek II comes in third on my all time favorite Star Trek movies behind Insurrection and The Undiscovered country. Perhaps what made this movie a little better for me was that it was the continuation of an episode in the original ... Read review

Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by Pally01

Advantages: Better than the first, better than the rest
Disadvantages: What's that again?

...what cost???!!! Out of the ten Star Trek films, where would you rank it: 1st Can you give me an interesting bit of information about the film: All of Khan's men were Chippendale dancers at the time. (from imdb.com) After the first Star Trek film was completed most of the actors thought that that was it. Walter Koening (Mr Chekov) stated that he had thought when the series was cancelled it would be the last time that he would play the ... Read review

KKKKHHHHHHAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by ccundall

Advantages: Action packed, great story
Disadvantages: Low budget

The best but most controversial Star Trek film which opted for all out action and paved the way for the ailing franchise to continue for numerous other films. Its a relief that the much needed action sequences made their way to this second installment for Kirk and co. after the previous Star Trek Motion Picture was poorly received and lacked enough depth to convert neutrals. Director Nicholas Meyer flirted with controversy due to the death of Spock ... Read review

Boldly going again
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by NeilHudson

Advantages: Reasonably interesting
Disadvantages: We all know Spock's not dead really

Not satisfied with bringing the regular cast back, the "Star Trek" managers now decided to resurrect a baddie, in the shape of Khan, last seen on the TV series exiled by Kirk. Bad guys don't forget this kind of thing, and Khan returns to wreak his revenge on the crew, and apparently everyone else as well. The plot is really just a small collection of sf comic book tropes, an excuse to bring the characters out and strut about without actually meaning ... Read review

Far better than Star Trek 1!
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by CliveS

Advantages: Smaller budget - better script
Disadvantages: Scotty playing the bagpipes!

A smaller budget, left-over effects that were used in the first film and a baddie from the tv series - a perfect combination for a trek outing! Khan - a refugee from the 1990's (I must have missed himwhen he supposidly tried to take over the world!) is discovered by an unsuspecting Chechov on a harsh and desolate. Khan soon over powers the crew of the U.S.S. Reliant and it is up to Kirk and Spock (who are leading a training mission) to save the day. ... Read review

Literary and Cool
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by JeffSumm

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

The first star Trek movie was a directing attempt by William Shatner that fell seriously short of a good flick. The second movie, the Wrath of Kahn, had a real director, Lenord Nemoy, and a great script. Kirk was modelled after King Lear, who repeatedly made bad decisions and suffered for them. Kahn, played by Ricardo Montelban (from Fantasy Island fame) was modelled after Captain Ahab, who persued Kirk all across the galaxy and would not ever give ... Read review

Action and fighting all the way
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by andybain

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

The second feature length Star Trek movie had Captain Kirk battling his old enemy Khan who was banished to a lonely planet by Kirk in the original TV series. The story was more action based than the previous movie, although the site of two aging actor’s fighting and trying to look 20 years younger is not too convincing. This film will also be remembered for being the film in which Spock died and had his body sent to the Genesis planet, the new Federation ... Read review

A Great Action Movie
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by seadevil

Advantages: A Good Balanced Action Movie
Disadvantages: none

...make a fabulous bad guy. Overall, Star Trek 2 The Wrath Of Khan is a well balanced action film with great special effects and acting. Worth every penny. THE ONE FLAW If your a star trek fan then take note of this. In the epsiode space seed which is where this film continues, chekov was not in the series at the time but when khan and chekov first meet in the film, khan recognises him. It is only a minor flaw but it does ruin the detail to ... Read review

Much better!
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by rwsweet

Advantages: Much better than ST:TMP. Great plot, good characters
Disadvantages: A little dated now

The first 'Star Trek' movie was supposed to be a one off, but when it made so much money more were inevitable. 'The Wrath of Khan' reintroduced a character from one of the original episodes, so providing not only continuity but also a decent plot that would be followed up in the later films. Whilst the special effects are still rather dated, they don't try to impress in the same way as those in 'The Motion Picture' and much more emphasis is put on ... Read review

Better than the original
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by marselluswallace

Advantages: funny, entertaining, ironic cast
Disadvantages: not very inventive

...major improvement over the original STAR TREK, this colorful, entertaining, funny and compelling space adventure is kind of a sequel to a TV episode entitled "Space Seed", where Kirk (William Shatner) put his nemesis Khan (Ricardo Montalban) onto a waste planet, from where he escapes and hunts for the "genesis"-weapon, which leads to further battles with the Enterprise crew. With better costumes, special effects, guest actors and more self-assurance ... Read review

The 1st REALLY good star trek movie!!!
Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan DVD by chris86

Advantages: Being a Star Trek movie!
Disadvantages: Being the second of the series when it should have been the 1st

...this installment of the star trek movie series is a definite improvement on the previous film "the Motion Picture". probably not one of the best of the star trek saga but definitely not the worst either. the film brings back an early character of the star trek the original series tv series, KHAN!!!!!!!!! he comes back from a previous episode called "space Seed" to haunt kirk and once again try to take over the Enterprise, which eventually he succeeds ...
