Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is a beautifully created animation movie. So far it is the best I've ever seen. Other amination movies are nothing compared to this. This movie is quite different compared to others. Instead of having characters speaking, there is a narrator, narrating the entire story line. Spirit is a beautiful brown horse with a black long mane. He is the leader of the heard. He is captured by the army when protecting his herd. ...

Well, what can I say. I'm a huge fan of Bryan Adams and when I saw an interview on the news with him about a new film that he was singing for I thought..hmm....must see that film. My only regret was that I didn't go and see it at the cinema. I actually saw it on a plane flying over to the states and had the rather emabarassing experience of being in tears at the end! The film is set in the American midwest and follows the life of a stallion (Spirit) ...

This may seem like an over-zealous statement to start a review with, but I can honestly say that I've lost count of the number of times I've watched this dvd. As a slightly skeptical 20 year old, I expected to sit through 90 minutes of boredom while my 8 year old neice watched Spirit. But within 10 minuts, I found myself pulled into a world of awesome animation, amusing narrative, and and ...
...of voicing Spirit's emotions. I have to say, one of my biggest concerns with this was the thought of horses talking, as are often seen in this sort of movie. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was kept to narration, and some very amusign facial expressions. I really enjoyed this film from start to finish, as did my niece. This is a very moving tale of a wild mustang fighting for his freedom in the 'wild west'. A really good piece of animation from Dreamworks. The best part is that there is no animals talking, instead the animal characters are defined and developed through the use of actual animal actions. The horses act like horses, the eagle like an eagle etc. This is a great film to watch with the family, good for both young children and adults as the storyline ...
