Speed 2 - Cruise Control (DVD)

I thought speed was a good film, with some good humour and action. Speed 2 promised to be just as good, but since its release the word 'speed' has made me feel sick. I can't watch speed these days without thinking about the horror that is the sequel. I recommend this film only to those people with A LOT of time on their hands - so much, in fact, that they wake up at 4 every morning and do nothing until 11 that same night. Granted this movie is not as good as its incredible prequel but it can still hold its own as an entertaining action flick. Jason Patric fits into the role of hero very well and is superb in the action sequences where he performed a lot of his own stunts. Speed was a pretty decetn action film with a good premise that was well executed. naturally the formula cleaned up at the box office and a sequel was put into motion. This film had a hard act to follow and it did not make a good job of it at all. The fact that the cast had changed did not help and using a boat seemed somewhat unrealistic. The film failed to keep me on the edge of my seat aas with the first one and when it had finished I felt quite let down.
