Advantages: A fantastic mixture of both story lines and cast
Disadvantages: Very bloody and violent, not for the faint hearted.

Sin City is based on a comic stories by Frank Miller. Sin City is violent and blood thirsty film. The police are corrupt and the streets increadiably deadly, with different gangs and story lines through out the film. In the end they all come together so don't be put off by the confusing storylines and quick scene swapping. You will actually follow three stories. The main story is that of Marv. A really unique film, i loved the fact it was in black and white it looked very classicly classy. Its got a really unpredictable plot, great cast. Has 4 different story lines to keep you hooked and the way they all link in the end is superbly done. Must see :)

This movie is amazing. I have no idea where the begin with all the things it does right. First, Rodriguez had the testicular fortitude to insist on including Miller in the mix to bring the graphic novels to light. For anyone who hasn't seen this film, this dvd is a must buy. Advantages: Great acting
Disadvantages: Plot rather sick and disturbing

...are all going on in sin city - not the best place to go on holiday! There are several stories inter-linked -some what like Quentin Tarantino's "pulp fiction". So, it's no suprise that he was a special guest director on the film. There are "hero's" in this ghastly world of sin. They come in the form of Bruce Willis, Clive Owen and Mickey Rourke. ...exstensive 'Behind the scenes of Sin City' which is a really interesting look at the journey of how the graphic novels by Frank Miller made it to the big screen and how they managed to pick there huge and exspensive cast. well,the black and white colour in this film and sometime the blood red it just so sharp that you cant ignor!i liked it!

...truely is a city of sin from bad cops, killers and gun toting prostitutes... its been done before you may think, but never in the slick incredibly sexy style of this film. To be honest i watched it twice just to make sure i did'nt miss anything the first time, the pace is fast and the story jumps from place to place and the time line goes back an forth. I watched this film as I had been recommended it by a work colleague! At the end of the film all I could think was "well there is 2 hours of my life I will never get back, what a waste". Ultra violent and stylish film noir, based on the Frank Miller comic. This movie follows the adventures of 3 main charcters through a lawless and dangerous city. Filmed against Green Screen the background looks superbly dark and exactly how it looked in the graphic novels the movie is based on. Disadvantages: boring

...I was fairly disappointed with Sin City. The black and white visual style jumps out at you and is especially effective as only red is displayed. I enjoyed this effect and made the movie feel larger than life. The main problem with Sin City is that it's pretty boring. The story covers three interlinking semi-superhuman characters in a decaying city. Not being a comic book fan, or having read any of the comic books, I felt no nostalgia or affiliation ... Read review
