...Rodriguez has not simply adapted Sin City from the original comics, but nearly cut and pasted them over, and made almost no changes to the script. The effect was a bold visual impression, which remained as two dimensional as the paper it was printed on. ...ultra-violence and fast paced action, Sin City is a a modern classic, and certainly one of the best neo-noir films ever. Disadvantages: Can Become Tiresome, Inconsistent Pace

...the pace occasionally stutters, but Sin City's flaws are all but unnoticeable, rendered insignificant by the sheer intelligence and grit that is injected into this comic book adaptation. Until a few days ago I had no idea what this film was actually about . I had some thought but of the story line I knew nothing.
