...is the first chronological film, Sharpe's Rifles is not the first chronological novel, which would be Sharpe's Tiger when he starts as a private, but the events described in that book are placed much later in the TV show.

I haven't read the book this DVD is taken from but I have however seen most if not all of the Sharpe series on the Television and I also have a few of the full length VHS tapes. Its the same old subject matter to any great film, book or series, an action hero who is not perfect but always manages to get the girl in end. I like the historical aspects of the series and agree that the scenes are very well shot and the story lines are brilliant. I really ...
