Advantages: Wholesome fun and great songs Disadvantages: A couple of cringe moments
...so years ago the name Shania Twain was always said in the same breath as country music.I was never a fan of country music but when she decided to broaden her horizons and take music to a new level with a mixture of what i can only describe as 'country leanings with a pop music edge i was totally blown away by what this lady has achieved.
After hearing a couple of her songs in the charts i was never going to say "That dont impress me much" (excuse ... ...not all of us are shania fans but if you want to feel good and foot tap your way around the bedroom or wherever then this is a must buy for you.
Shania Twain live in chicago was one from the 'up' tour from the album of the same name.So if you did purchase the 'up' cd then you will be familiar with the songs.
There are 22 songs in the concert and they are as follows...

THE SONGS

If it is really just the songs you want, they are basically the same as on the CD called 'Up'.
Lots of great titles that have become her signature all over the world.
'From this moment' with its soft, lilting tones contrasting with the more C&W feel of ' Whose bed have your boots been under?'
'Don't be stupid' with its sense of fun, contrasting with the harsher sound and cutting ... ...every Shania fan will love some if not all of these tracks.
THE PERFORMANCE

The DVD does not have the pure sound quality of the CD for obvious reasons - this was a live concert, after all.
But, that said, the quality is great and you'll catch all the words perfectly well,
The DVD does give that extra feel of a live performance.
You see some of the emotion of a song. There is an extra ingredient in a live show that is hard ...

Advantages: Subtle differences to usual Live format from Shania. Great songs. Disadvantages: Nothing as a Shania Fan
...Another solid product from the Shania stable.
This is a must for any Shania Fan, but even if you're not a great fan, but can enjoy her music it still wouldn't go amiss in your DVD collection.
Its been well edited, with plenty of feeling for the show. It was shown in edited form on NBC as a free concert with around 50,000 fans attending. This is different to Shania's usual format of UP Live Shows so for that reason alone it stands out.
The main ... ...feel to the nuances that Shania brings to each of the songs, so you get a much more personal feel about the songs and what they mean. You also see Audience Interaction, just as she does on tour. Again, as a fan it brings you closer to Shania. This is exactly the sort of thing she does when touring. You also do lose that expected sound quality because it isn't CD, but we had ours set up on our surround sound system of speakers and that helped bring ...
