Shangai Noon is the film Rush Hour was meant to be, a hilarious, frenetic action/comedy which sees Jackie form a believable partnership with an American comedy actor. Shanghai Noon is one of Jackie Chan's best movies ever! I have watched it about 5 times already and still want to watch it again! The film gets of to an 'interesting' start with the director setting the story, it starts in China and you learn what the characters are (imperial guards) and of course you learn about princess pei pei. This movie in my opinion is more of a comedy than a martial arts film although Jackie Chan gives the usual dose of breathtaking fights and stunts. It is one of the best action comedies that Hollywood has churned out in the last few years. It s essentially a buddy movie and like Rush Hour- Jackie Chan does the fighting leaving the talking to Owen Wilson. Jackie Chan is among the legends of Kung Fu, along with Bruce Lee and Jet Li and he has done some brilliant and great films, including Rush Hour 1, 2 and 3 which are all brilliantly funny and all have one thing in common. I have to say that this opinion will probably be rather biased as I am a huge fan of Jackie Chan. In spite of that fact I have to admit that this film isn't his best. Don't get me wrong, it's a great film and I was glued to the screen throughout, it just doesn't have quite the same impact as the recent Jackie greats such as Rush Hour, Mr Nice Guy and the excellent Rumble in the Bronx. I first saw a clip of this film when I was watching the us top 10, man at first glimes I was so intriged I mean therefore was Jackie chan in his fighting spirits changing the way chinese people are seen. The movie has this cool bad guy who looks bit like Richard obrian from cristal maze, but he a lot cooler a lot bolder, a lot meaner, and hell lot better that obrian at KUNG FU....
