The Film Serenity carries on from where the film left off, but don't worry if you haven't seen the series as the prologue manages to not only show the fans something we haven't seen before but to also bring the newcomers up to date with the world and background to the main plot in a few short minutes. Serenity is the movie that was born from a dead sci-fi TV show and I am so happy that it got made. Firefly itself was a brilliant show that suffered from scheduling problems and FOX not understanding it. Serenity carries on from Firefly but really adds to the mythos of the show and expands the universe. I have recommended this movie to quite a few friends who do not like sci-fi at all and found that they really enjoyed it. Do not be put off by ...
...think it sounds like a stupid idea (myself included). This may be the look of the show but once you get into it, you find that it really works. The acting from the already established cast is great, even though some get less time on screen than others they all feel like they have their place and if you have already seen Firefly then you are glad to see them return.
