Advantages: Great film all round Disadvantages: a bit bloody
I watched Scream about 8 months ago after buying it on video. Recently we bought a new DVD player and I decided to rent out a DVD so I went down to my local shop and rented Scream 2.
I have always been worried about watching “Scary” films but after seeing Scream I knew I’d be ok. I noticed that Scream was 15 and that Scream 2 was an 18 but that didn’t stop me wanting to know what happened after Scream.
Scream 2 stars:
Neve ... ...going to be killed because Scream 3 has been made so it’s obvious that she’s going to survive this film as well.
Randy is killed in the reporter’s van while he is looking for the killer. Dooey is nearly killed, well when he is stabbed in the recording studio you think that he gets killed but at the end you see that he’s not dead. Gale ends up getting shot but survives.
I couldn’t wait until the end, not because the ...

After seeing Scream a good few years back I’ve been eagerly awaiting the sequel (ok, sequels now!) to come out on TV. (You must understand that although Scream 2 has been out on video for a while…. I only rarely buy the video’s!) So, when I was looking through the Weekend TV guide and noticed Scream 2 was going to be shown on Channel 4 I was determined not to miss it! Normally I forget about them until the day after when everyone ... ...If you haven’t yet seen Scream then I guess this opinion will be a little bit confusing. My advice would be to watch Scream first (my mum watched Scream 2 and I got annoyed having to explain who everyone was to her!) Having said all that it isn’t essential to know who they all are before watching this film. ~ Who’s who? ~ Director: Wes Craven Producer: Cathy Konrad Marianne Maddalena Screenplay: Kevin Williamson Main cast: Neve ...

Well, Scream 1 was great wasn't it, it was a whole new addition to the teen-scream genre, bringing a tired type of movie back to life - and oh how good it was, but we're not here to talk about the first movie, its the second one - does it live up to its promise? well read on faithful ciaoser and all shall be explained. We join the story at the premiere of the new movie "stab" (Look out for a cameo appearance by Tori Spelling, remember the joke syd ... ...But anyway its a Scream movie we all know the rough plot, its a somebodys trying to kill Syd, leaving a trail of dead bodies in their path - it could be anyone type of movie. OK, so its a plot 'of sorts' and it does work well, but as I've said before - its a horror movie so we can't expect miracles when it comes to the story-writing, but they try honest they do. Anyway, as viewers of the first movie will know half the main cast aren't alive any more ...

Advantages: good suspense and scares, a lot more polished Disadvantages: weak ending
Scream 2's initial release on dvd was an underwhelming affair. If you had the R1/R2 version all you got was a widescreen print of the film, not 16x9 enhanced and devoid of any extras. Well now that situation has been redeemed with the release of a collectors edition of the film. In R1 land it's available in a bix set and is anamorphic. The same goes for R2 except that some clever guy forgot to include an anamorphic transfer. Yep this means that those ... ...Scream 2 is the better of the trilogy. It's just a more glossy well orchestrated film that has laughs but thanks to a larger canvas and locations gets better scares. Don't agree ? Then take a look at the killer's stalking of Gale in the recording studio or the taunting of Randy on the cellphone. Both of these rack up the tension with the help of space. The Cox/Arquette relationship also fires on all cylinders with some real heat that comes good in ...

...of a Wes Craven fan. Scream 2 (1997) is the second part of an enjoyable, memorable, modern horror trilogy - directed by Wes Craven (US). In this sequel to the 1996 classic Scream 1, a masked killer returns to get stab happy in copycat fashion. It has been two years since the events at Woodsboro and the surprising discovery of the original Killers identity. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and film nut Randy (Jamie Kennedy) are both students at the ... ...In no way will Scream 2 ever surpass the classic Drew Barrymore opening of the original, however this film is querky, violent and very much tongue in cheek. The dialogue is, in parts a little cheesy but constant references to Courtney Cox's 'Friends' co-stars, and the ever crazy ramblings from wannabe psycho Randy, only make this film better. The original cast returns - the wonderful Neve Campbell as Sydney, Courtney Cox as Gail Weathers and of course ...

Scream 2 is the inevitable sequel to the groundbreaking smash hit Scream. If you don’t know what Scream is, check out one of the many excellent ops on Ciao before reading this, might as well do it in order huh? Otherwise this op may ruin it, as I’m going to have to refer to it in some way.

Scream 2 carries on the story from the first film, Syd Prescott (Neve Campbell) is now a college girl, moving away form Woodsboro to study acting, in the hope of making it bog and putting all the murderous troubles behind her. However, things don’t go so well. When a new film “Stab”, based on the story of the Woodsboro murders by Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) premieres in her new town the nightmare starts for ...

...to be problems! Scream 2 reunites director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson (who since the last film has enjoyed success with the TV series Dawsons Creek). Williamson has produced a brilliant script this time round which not only pokes fun at the rest of the industry, but also at the original Scream film.

When Scream was released in 1996, I was very impressed by the satirical and self-referential style of the film. However I was sceptical when the sequel, Scream 2 was released in 1997, as I thought it was straining the idea to make additional films.

He's back with another sequel is our horror director/writer, Wes Craven. The second film's prologue takes place at a cinema where Maureen (Jada Pinkett) and her boyfriend Phil have gone to see a film called Stab. It is based on the events of Sidney Prescott's life. Scream 2 follows the same basic formula as the first but isn't, in my opinion, as good as the first was, that is not to put down this film because it was very good on it's own merits, but no compared to the first. ...frightening, rather shocking. Scream 2 carries on from Scream 1, so if you haven’t seen it before, it will take you a while to get the name and the plot. The film is good but if some spoil sports has told you the murderer, then the plot can be lost and the excitement lost.
