This film is quite funny in places and has some clever moments too, yet it still remains a fairly average film. It is essentially targetted at a teen audience, and as such is rather limited. When My boyfriend and I went to see this at the cinema we were quite chuffed that there hadn't been too many trailers for it so the best parts were kept nice and fresh for all the cinema goers. The best thing about seeing this film so early (aswith many other films) is that neither I nor my boyfriend had seen any trailers for it - as we all know, they put some of the best bits in the trailers. Advantages: Hilariously funny in many depths, not so predictable as one expects. Disadvantages: Nudity may make some of us roll are eyes but if that doesnt bother you, thats great!

The familiarity in characters are uncanny from 'Scream' and 'I know What You Did Last Summer'. You just have to watch it so see that. Obviously the characters are 'slightly' exagerated but hey that is the custom of scary movies!

What can I say??? This is the funniest movie around, and I DEFINITELY recommend it. Probably best known for its WHAZZZZZZZZAAAAAAHHHHHHH, and completely taking the *michael* out of Scream! I don't think there were any bad parts to this movie at all...every part was absolutely hilarious!!! Go see it if you haven't already...the actors were amazing, and the story followed Scream exactly, adding in some really funny moments, like with the bats...does ...

A film that everyone wants to see. Th trailer has been shown on TV all the time, everyone wants to see it. This film is not good, it is funny in some parts but mildy amusing unlike the great comedy of the year, american pie. The gore os the film was not really that obvious unlike the dramatic horror of American Psycho!!!! The film had boyish, immature humour that young teenagers of 15 would enjoy, sick unimaginative humour. The film also lacked any ... ...it just did not work with the short clips, jumping from film to film. This is also what any person would think to do in a spoof film, what u would expect someone to do when making fun of a film.

In a word this film sucks. It really does. The underlying story is based purely on Scream (with a dose of I Know What You Did Last Summer and a plethora of other imitations) and the creators seem to have taken the original (Scream) script and just tried to make each individual scene funny - and it don't work.
Disjointed to say the least, this film lurches from one unfunny scene to another with no attention to story or detail. This is like a teen ... ...series of unconnected sketches all based on a common theme. The cast are no names and they do appear to try hard but there's simply nothing for them to work with. Weak jokes, pathetic 'puns' and the type of humour that tries to be outrageous but falls well short of the mark.
It's aiming for the American Pie audience and it will have it's supporters but I for one found it to be shallow, unfunny, and incredibly weak. I'd much rather stick with the ...

...OK, let's calm down:
Scary Movie turned out what I thought it to be (a hilarious movie with people getting killed off in wacky ways and silly parodies of recent horror movies) and what I didn't think it to be (showing...ahem...small full frontal male nudity, and a major gross scene). The Wayans have majorly beat the "There's Something About Mary" creators with the most gross-out jokes ever displayed in a movie. Anyway, Scary Movie was a good funny ... ...And even though it followed SCREAM by every scene almost, there were other movies parodied and mentioned. For example: I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Matrix, American Pie, The Blair Witch Project, Amistad, Shakespeare in Love, Friday the 13th, and I even caught something that dealt with The Exorcist. And how they copied Tatum's death scene was hilarious. If I say anymore, I will give out what the plot here is to the movie, so I'm going to stop.

I recently rented out this movie "Scary Movie" which is for anyone who has never heard of it a spoof horror movie which is like a mix of a few horror movies the main ones being scream and I know what you did last summer. It was very entertaining but at times was a little boring as I have seen all the movies that the parts were taking from so it was quite boring watching bits I had seen before althought they were funnier.
The best funniest scene ... ...is standing and the killer who is dressed up inthe scream outfit and mask phone's her and says "do you know where I am ?" and she is standing looking at his feet from behind the coach and says "um, you're behind the coach." Overall I would give this movie 10 out of 10 for funnyness. I think it was good the way that they took parts rom different movies and intangled them and made them funnier. I would recommend this movie for all those up for a bit ...

Scary movie is one of those movies where you can sit down and watch it over and over again and not get tired of it. The stoy is based on 6 high school kids who had supposdly killed a farmer and a year later a guy drest up in a scream costume or should i say guys who are set out to kill the 6 troublesome kids. The storyline is not wonderful but with the laughs in it, to most viewers it would not bother them. This movie is a micky take out of scream ... ...the suspicious character of doofy adds twists, tails and a bag of laughs from this retarded kid. I recommend this to mature viewers and people with a sence of humour but it does not have a wide range of laughs, they are mainly baste on a particular pert of the movie and there are no unpredictable jokes. But overall i give it an 8 and a half out of 10. ...
