It's the "Naked Gun" of the genre and whilst it's nowhere near that league it raises a fair few laughs, a few more childish smirks and ultimately leaves you feeling like you've had a good 90 minutes or so. I went to see Scary Movie looking for a laugh and I got one. There were some really funny scenes in the film and I enjoyed it more than some of the films it depicted ie, Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Sixth Sense. As with any comedy film there were a few scenes that weren't funny but in all in if you have watched the above films you are guaranteed to find Scary Movie funny and entertaining. I went to see Scary Movie last month. I had absolutely no idea what it was about, or what it was going to be like, since I'd just come back from my holiday and hadn't seen any trailers. I had absolutely no idea what was going on at first, I didn't know whether it was supposed to be funny or scary. If you have no idea what it is about, it's basically a parody of all the Scream films, "I know what you did last summer" etc. I have not seen ANY of those ...
...it (probably because I did Communications Studies!). I even recognised a little bit of "Blair Witch" in it too, but I haven't seen that one either! There's been loads of stuff in the media about how you can't parody a parody, but I think it does it pretty well.
