Advantages: A beginning as action packed as any ending Disadvantages: Incredibly dark especially during key scenes.
In the summer of 2006 Saw 3 reached the news headlines, people were vomiting and passing out in the cinemas because of the extreme nature of the movie. Of the back of this publicity over night all cinemas were given a trimmed down version of the movie from the producers, who obviously did not want the movie to get banned in this country. So after three nights of screenings, it was only an edited version that the UK public got to see. With the release ...

Saw III [film only]
I was drinking cranberry juice while watching Saw III again… yes, I was actually drinking a red juice while hearing bones being crushed, muscles being torn, and blood splashing on people's faces. Yummy, but I wonder where this is going to lead me. When you begin watching Saw III, you will only see a series of terribly gory scenes, and definitely wonder what you have gotten yourself into. But if you give the film a chance, ...

...of their pertinent plot points. Saw 1 introduces Jigsaw and his various victims particularly Dr Lawrence Gordon and Adam, as well as another very important character and sets up the premise of the killings, as well as establishing the need for a twist in every film. Saw 2 throws more victims into the mix, a bigger twist and a lot more gore.
Now before I start on the movie proper, I just want to get started on one thing that really bugs me about ...

Saw 3 is the last of a trilogy about a man called Jigsaw. He is a sick psychopath who thinks up new ways to completely destroy the unfortunate individuals who he makes his victims.
The story is hard to follow if you haven't watched the previous films and in my opinion is better than Saw 2 but still not up to the standard of the original Saw.
Story:
The evil puppet-master Jigsaw a.k.a. John Kramer is at work again. But there's a twist. He is ...

Do not miss Review ofSaw 3 (Extreme Edition) (DVD)by

Advantages: Another great film in the Saw franchise Disadvantages: Can't think of any!
Saw 3 is the second sequel in this brilliant horror series, it was released in late 2006 a year after Saw 2. This is by far the most inventive film & also looks like the end of the film franchise as Jigsaw is on his death bed & eventually dies but of course is sheer Jigsaw fashion the games don't stop there.
This film follows on from Amanda's 'friendship' with Jigsaw in her helping him with his sick games & also helping him survive his Cancer. ...

Advantages: Extreme Edition Disadvantages: ending lets you down
...brutal, bloodthirsty horror of 2006; Saw 3. My first encounter with the movie was after Christmas as I had just been introduced to saw 2 by my sci-fi fanatic sister. I must admit when I first heard I thought ok this sounds cheesy and as the movie continued I was gradually proved right. Many parts of the movie were fantastically filmed and superbly acted but other areas proved the theory that number one in a trilogy is always the best.
The movie ...

The second ‘Saw’ sequel develops the mythology of sadistic puppet-master Jigsaw (Bell) in ambitious, gruesome but ultimately self-defeating ways. Despite the twisted imagination he and his protégé Amanda (Shawnee Smith) lavish upon their ingenious engines of pain, there are no scares or suspense to speak of, and the screams are starting to sound thin. Although the perverse master/pupil dynamic is explored to some effect, the complicated flashback structure is more confusing than enlightening, the hyper-kinetic images more agitating than exciting. Debilitated by a brain tumour, Jigsaw abducts depressed brain surgeon Lynn (Bahar Soomekh) and forces her to Black and Decker his skull, while wearing an explosive collar linked to his heart monitor. Fully conscious throughout, Jigsaw amuses himself by monitoring the tests he has devised for Jeff (MacFadyen), an alcoholic consumed by fantasies of vengeance since his son was killed in a car accident. As the overwrought puzzle plot is strained to breaking point, the sole point of interest is the teasing (probably disingenuous) hint that this attenuated instalment might be the last of the series. Advantages: Another well-written chilling chapter to the Saw legacy Disadvantages: Relies too heavily on gore and shock value
...plotting and twists that made Saw and Saw 2 so ingenious and rewatchable seem to be lost under a haze of squirming and retching, but the film delivers an excellent narrative structure held up the acting talents of Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith who reprise their roles of the sinister Jigsaw and his unhinged apprentice Amanda.
Angus Macfadyen makes a welcome addition as Jigsaw's latest victim, forced through a sadistic series of games of redemption ...

Advantages: Watch only if you have seen the first 2 Disadvantages: Lame plot
Glory third film out of the four now. The plot is ok but from being a edge of the seat film its all become about gore. Only worth seeing if you've seen the first two.
-The Plot-
The Jigsaw killer is now dying of terminal cancer, so he gets his helper to kidnap a doctor to keep him alive through his last killing spree.
The story line is now abit outlandish. Here we see the jigsaw killer on a hospital bed in his warehouse with a doctor doing ...

This is the third outing into the world of Jigsaw, the master of cruelty and an absolute must for any serious gorefest fan. From the very start the torture scenes are dificult to watch without hiding behind your hands. The final torture scene, which involves a contraption that twists human limbs to breaking point, is probably the most gruelling. Probably will not receive any Oscars but is worth a watch!!

Gore (yes) Blood (yes) moments that makes you want to cringe (yes)
All the same features as the rest of the saw films. When they say its a low budget film they really wasnt lying, I could watch this film over and over again just to cringe at the same bits everytime. if you like blood and stuff then you will like this, If you want a film that your girl is going to hide in your arms this may do the trick for you

More in Saw IV? Review ofSaw 3 (Extreme Edition) (DVD)by
lustba
Advantages: gory and some parts scary Disadvantages: not the best plot line
The more gory of the Saw anthology to date (yet to see Saw IV) if you like blood and guts and sadistic killing machines then this is one to watch. The plot has started to run thin however, nowhere near as gripping as the first film. All in all worth watching.
The best thing i think about the film is the fact that it does link in to the other previous installments, tying up loose ends here and there and also offering an explanation as to how the ...

...I have been following the SAW series from the beginning, and it is starting to falter just like many sequels (scream, terminator, batman) to name a few, here we catch up with Jigsaw who is now ill (or is he) so he gets help, his helper takes on his mantle and carries out his dirty deeds with mechanical effectiveness. Anyone who sinned in the past were prime targets, but now the stakes are upped when seemingly innocent targets are pulled into the game ...
