...to come, not just because santa would be coming to leave me lots of lovely presents but because it would mean taking part in one of my favourite traditions- sitting down with my parents and siblings to watch Santa Claus the movie. Out would come all the snacks and a hot chocolate and we'd pile onto the sofa to put in the video(or frequently watch it on tv) now as a grown up i carry on the tradition with my own children and still watch it every christmas ... ...be known as "santa Claus" Santa then departs on his first ever delivery.
Gradually the years pass in a montage of clips showing the people of the world as times change and modernise, we see the indtroduction of the naughty and nice rule as well as a race for promotion between 2 elfs in order to become Santas assistant, one elf is chosen but the path never runs smoothly and accidents occur. Advantages: Great feel-good Christmassy film Disadvantages: Average in parts
The tale and legend of Santa Claus is one that sits withe everyone both young and old as a wonderful feeling around Christmas. The notion of a large old man with a huge beard, hearty laugh, red and white costume and herd of reindeer pulling a sleigh through the air to give kid their presents on Christmas Eve is magical, and has spawned many films telling stories of old Saint Nick.
This offering, Santa Claus The Movie, was released in 1985, and focuses ... ...elves as much as Santa himself. It is a film that was true to my heart as a child when it was released, and still is now. I watched it this Christmas just gone with my 4 year old son, and he loved it too. The film is 104 minutes long.
The Plot
Santa Claus lives happily in the North Pole with his wife, elves and toymakers. There is a hierarchy of toymakers, at the top of which is Patch. After another year of competing to see who has the best toy ...

Advantages: A great family Christmas film Disadvantages: Dodgy acting in places
...a heartwarming tale of how Santa Claus as we know him now began, and how he was chosen and why. He and his wife are then magically whisked off to the north pole, and a very well organised elf setup. As many a christmas passes by Santa becomed increasingly overworked and rundown, so he must choose an assistant. But all does not go to plan as things get worse the children of the world start to lose faith. All the while a big time toy manufacturer run ... ...to try to prove to Santa that he can do something right. Armed with a large batch of magic elf dust things can only go wrong.
The plot to this film in my opinion is ok, it gives the little kids insight into how christmas as they know it started. Showing them that christmas isn't just about recieving presents and how lucky they are to get them. This is because alongside the main brunt of the film there is a story of a young boy called Joe who has ...

...saying I still believe in Santa - sad I know - Well here goes - Once upon a time, long long ago, a toymaker was given amazing powers and was chosen to live in the NORTH POLE - wish it was me - anyway on with the story, with the elves to deliver gifts to children all around the world.

Santa Claus, his wife Anya, Patch ( the great Dudley Moore) and the other little elves live happily together in ... ...to take over Christmas. Only Santa can save the day, and with the help of his reindeer and two children he has befriended, he leaves NORTH POLE to try and rescue Patch from disaster, and to keep the sprite of Christmas alive.

Santa is played by David Huddleston, he is the best looking Santa I ever saw, with support from Dudley Moore as an elf, and the wonderful John Lithgow as a baddy.
