Advantages: An airy romantic comedy to lighten your evening, Harrison Ford, Julia Ormand, and Greg Kinear play their parts to perfection. Disadvantages: Romantic comedies aren't for everyone, and when all is said and done, this is just another Cinderella story.
...the soothing, innocent voice of Sabrina Fairchild telling us what sounds, at first, like the beginning of a fairytale. We quickly realize she is, in fact, telling us the story of her life. She grew up on a sprawling picturesque estate on Long Island, but she lived there as one of the invisible people, merely the daughter of the Larrabee’s chauffer. We are drawn close by the softness of her voice and the dreamlike beauty of the scenes before us, as ... ...Sabrina as a young girl just coming of age, is intelligent, well educated, shy, self-conscoius, innocent, and quite hopelessly infatuated with David Larrabee. Nymph-like, she has spent years of her young life watching the fairy tale splendor of the Larrabee's parties from the safety of a near by tree. Advantages: Great acting Disadvantages: For romantics only
...romantic comedies. The film Sabrina is a traditional romantic and rags to riches type film. I know for some, this type of film can seem a tad predictable but I personally love watching happy ending films.

Advantages: under rated film, strong leading lady performance Disadvantages: slow starter
Other reviews have discussed the plot but I think the performances make this film. Although it is slow to engage the viewer, once you are hooked that's it. "Sabrina" draws you in to her life and you suffer along with her right to the end.
The occasional footage of France provides an interesting backdrop. I dont want to give away too much, but the way some of the pivotal scenes are shot it very impressive. Again the arrangement draws you right into ... ...may seem strange to the non-viewer, but it actually works and he does not seem like a 'sugar daddy' at all. The two complement each other well. His younger brother and mother act as light comedy relief to the main storyline. Watch out for the mother's clothes. Money does not buy taste!
This is film is worth a watch. ...
