Rocky 3 (DVD)

Well after watching Rocky 1 then naturally we should have watched the second but as we were not able to get it we skipped straight to Rocky 3, luckily I have seen them all before so I do know the story so was still able to follow them. Hubby actually says this one is the best and it is his favourite as it star Mr T! Rocky is now the Heavyweight Champion of the World after defeating Apollo Creed in the previous film so things are going exceptionally ...

Rocky III isn't better than the previous two. The gritty realism and characterization is no longer with us and what we are given is something that's more comic-strip like and predictable. However, although it isn't brilliant, Rocky III stands out in a unique way. You can't help to be lured into fantasy when 'The Eye Of The Tiger' begins to play over the opening titles as we get a glimpse of Rocky at his best - beating an array of challengers in triumph. ...

...to say it but The Rocky movies dont really get better as they go, but saying that even the worst of All the Rockies would still be one of the best movies of all time. Rocky 3 to me was interesting because rocky has finally steped into a pretty flashy world that really appreciated him, however he is still the same old bum (in a sweet way)from down the road! After beating Apollo and becoming the Champion Rocky has got to where he always wanted to ...
...he couldnt survive against him, Rocky accepts his challenge to prove him wrong. But he actually loses because his mind was tied around the worry off his dying coach! well he was going to accept it and live with the shame but then his Lovely wife shakes him into gear and tells him that she didnt marry a quiter!! ...this, the third of the Rocky movies. He says great things like "I don't respect Rocky, I pity the fool". He has big fluffy earrings. He's cool! The story has skipped on a few years, with Rocky holding on to the title for a number of years, he plans to announce his retirement, but Clubber Lang (Mr T) challenges him, and he just can't say no. Before all of this though there is a charity fight between Rocky and a top wrestlet, played by Hulk Hogan, ...
...match with Lang, he colapses. Rocky can't concentrate on the fight and loses. Mickey dies. So in steps Apollo to take over Rocky's traiing so that he can beat 'this punk'! Of course just like in part 2 Rocky is initially not keen, but after Adrienne gives him a bit of a talking to, he is again inspired and trains really hard, and runs along the beach. Then we get the final fight, with Rocky adopting some rather strange tactics, but will they succeed? ...

This time Rocky learns a lesson because he has let fame and fortune go to his head. A carefully worked out repeat of the ritual that casts Rocky as the underdog and allows the audience to do what they came for--cheer him to victory. Without a doubt the worst of the movies with Klubber Lang (Mr T) playing the BIG, BAD, MEAN opponent modelled on Tyson or Liston.
