...inventions and banishes all old robots to the scrap heap by only producing new parts and not repairing old spares.
Will Rodney and his friends put a stop to evil Ratchet’s plan? With Robot City be saved? And just what happened to Bigweld anyway and will Rodney convince him to develop his invention through the Bigweld Corporation? You will just have to watch the film to see like the rest of us!
***Who are Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha ***
Chris ... ...formed a strong working relationship. Robots is not their first venture together. Carlos actually directed Ice Age and Ice Age Two with Chris as well as the two Scrat shorts. Perhaps this is just the beginning of a new Hollywood pairing.
***How was the script***
The script for Robots was fantastic, but with the same powerhouse behind this as there was for Ice Age and Ice Age Two, it is hardly surprising.
Animated films face stiff competition these ...

...meets an eclectic bunch of robots who show him how to survive metropolitan life. Rodney's skills are soon necessary as the evil robot, Ratchet, who is now running Bigweld threatens the survival of his new friends and potentially that of his aging parents. SO SHOULD I SEE IT? "Robots" is a great little film. I cannot honestly rate it as highly as some of my animated favourites such as Shrek, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda or really any of the Pixars. However, ... ...the old, nuts and bolts robots with the shiny futuristic robots keeps your interest. It also goes to show that you can't judge a robot by its upgrades as the line between goodie and baddie cannot be drawn based on the appearance of a robot. The humour in the film is fairly traditional Robin Williams though with some moments of Mel Brooks (yes, that's one of the voices to look for). It is family friendly, but with the odd reference thrown in to delight ...

...A FILM-ONLY REVIEW
------------------------------------------
ROBOTS is a pleasing animated movie brought to us by the same directorial team in charge of the brilliant Ice Age (Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha). While it doesn't reach up to the standard of Ice Age and indeed leaves one with the feeling of a somewhat wasted opportunity, it is enjoyable fun for the whole family. The basic storyline revolves around Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) ... ...big city. His father Herb (Stanley Tucci) is a dishwasher (almost literally), which isn't much to aspire to, but Rodney has a very close relationship with his father - and seeing him in such a sorry state is another motivation for him wanting to be a success himself. Arriving in the big city, he meets Fender (Robin Williams), and off they go saving the world from the evil tyrant Ratchet (Greg Kinnear) and his even more evil mother Madam Gasket (Jim ...

Needless to say, Rodney manages to find a way in - albeit for a very short period of time.

First Impressions:
This is an outstanding cartoon-comedy that will appeal to both the younger and older generations. I have returned to watch it over and over again and it still has not aged for me. The Story:
Welcome to the world of robots, where, literally, everyone and everything is of metallic origin. It is in this wonderfully created world that you will meet Rodney (whose voice is given life to by Ewan Mcgregor).
Rodney is a slightly underprivileged ... ...disadvantaged social standing his motorized parents try their hardest to make sure he has as much as they can give him. Rodney's dad is a dishwasher (in every sense of that word) and although Rodney loves his dad to bits and bolts, he has ambitions to seek out a life in the big city as an inventor. Meanwhile in the city, Rodney's idol, a Mr. Bigweld is missing and instead of finding the welcoming arms of a big company who encourages inventors, he ...

Rodney's hero is BigWeld, the president of BigWeld Industries of Robot City. BigWeld Industries mainly just make stuff for other robots, including spare parts. Rodney himself is a budding young inventor, and creates a little flying robot that will make his dad's job so much easier. He takes his design to the restaurant his dad works at and after a while his dad lets the robot have a go. It truly does make his dad's job a lot easier. ...

My Opinion
When I started to watch this film I was thinking to myself it going to be one of thoughts crap kiddy films but no I was very wrong from the start to the end it had me laughing my head ... ...film which only an adult would understand also at the same time having the funny parts which children will get as well like the film shark 1 and 2 had. To my own surprise I truly enjoy this film and so did the rest of the family. I really thing people should watch this you won't be disappointed.
