Advantages: Great effects, satire is well played, good cast Disadvantages: Quite a bit of violence, which will disagree with some
Most of us associate Robocop with Peter Wellers automaton, guns and gore, and you wouldn't be far wrong, but Robocop actually carries a strong and quite amusing satire theme.
Robocop isn't about guns, high deathcounts or action. Well, yes it is, but these only serve to back up the satirical theme that forms the basis of Robocop. We see such little gems as a newsreader telling us that it is good enws that murders are down this month, as he smiles ... ...The effects are excellent. Robocop is a master of FX technology. Not only does the Robosuit look great, but Peter Weller mastered the art of steady, methodical movement to a tee. Ever see those robotic adncers on San Fransisco Bay? well, he IS a robotic dancer of the highest degree. The action scenes are excellent, and as in all good guy- bad guy films, the good guy is beaten up and wrecked (remember Johnny 5 in Short Circuit 2?) and is repaired ...

Robocop is one of those movies that kids weren't allowed to see but wanted to and did anyways. In Detroit a cop is killed by a drug lord and is brought back by a greedy company as a cyborg programmed to fight crime. The sleaze that killed Murphy has an devilishly programmed robot built by the same company pose a threat to him. The guy who plays the villain was very good and freaked me out as a kid. It's weird to see him on that 70's show. Peter Weller ...

Advantages: good film Disadvantages: Poor sequels.
Robocop was like something i had never seen before when it first came out. I remember seeing it on Video for the first time and thinking it was brilliant. The story involves a Cop, Murphy, being blown apart by a mad gang who hate cops. They leave him for dead but he is revived and used as part of an experiment by OCP who are an organisation involved in Law enforcement. They turn him into ROBOCOP! Half machine, half man. He soon cleans the town up ... ...he wants revenge on the gang that did this to him and goes after them. There is an undercurrent of tongue-in-cheek humour running throughout the film. there is also a sub plot involving OCP and their corrupt board of directors. its very close to some real life companies! Watching it now, I realise it is not meant to be taken too seriously but that does not take away from the fact that it is a great film. Forget the follow up films....They are terrible. ...

RoboCop is by far one the most exciting films ever made. It is action pack, full of memorable quotes and there is nothing to ruin the film. How many times have you seen a film that’s going great and then gets ruin by a pointless scene? Well RoboCop is one of very few films and even few action films that keeps you interested purely on it’s story, direction, acting and above all those memorable quotes.
Paul Verhoven, who I personally credit as the ... ...Kurosawa films and then seeing RoboCop again. It has to be said there is a fin line between inspired by, and ripping off, Verhoven does not cross that line, as so many other directors tend to do. It is a combination of true inspiration of Kurosawa’s work, and Verhovens own genius.
RoboCop has no faults as a film. There are however tons of goof ups, for example visible blood packs, and window breaking before they were touched. But to be honest, I ...

His ex-partner recognises tones of his voice and finally works out that Robocop is actually Murphy. The flashbacks begin, Robocop starts to remember what happened, and the killers, and sets out to enforce the law…. It’s a good kids flick I guess. ...

basically a guy gets blown to bits by a bunch of blokes with guns and gets made in to a futuristic cop with metal body armour and super abilities of strength and aim. Murphy is the guy in question. He goes around fighting crime and protecting the innocent. I would say that this film is certainly a good one and it could be said it is worth a watch so go out and get it. So why was it such a big success then? I am not really sure it certainly is not ...

Out of all the robocop films this is my favorite its original and very unique but it does have its own sense of humour. Im the sort of person who hates those films that make you cringe cos you know whats gonna come next but comparing this to the other two it is the best. Where as r2 is darker and more focused on the family of robocop r3 is lighter and i do admit watchin him fly was very funny. But when it comes down you see where he originates from ...

All i can say about this little film, is that it really is extreamly depressing. I do not remember the exact story line but i can remember that a cop gets injered or something and they use parts of him to make into a robot so they can fight crime and then it goes all wrong and the robot then goes completly crazy and start breaking up the whole country and killing all the people in it. Finally it ends up that he was upset about being made into a robot ...
