Robocop 2 is another movie which adds weight to the argument that sequels basically suck. Few sequels work, those that do are usually radical rethinks of the movie whih came before and have very few elements of the original in them, or make use of more modern technology to blow the predecessor away with flashy special effects and the like. RoboCop 2 brings about the return of Peter Weller as the bullet proof cop who keeps the streets clean.
The story this time is set around a new addictve drug called "NUKE" that has plauged the streets of lawless Detroit.
RoboCop is unaware that his creators, OCP (Omni Consumer Products) want to take the city of Detroit "Private" and develop a new and improved RoboCop 2, a newer, bigger and far more powerful robot to replace the original.

Advantages: Are you kidding?? this film is awful!! Disadvantages: Too many to list? is that an answer?
Robocop the original was a good film, a bit heavy on the body count, but nontheless a good film, with some good satire. Its violence was excusable. Robocop 2 cannot be excused. God himself could not redeem this awful film. Peter Weller and Nancy Allen reprise their roles from the original. They must have been paid well for it.
