Robocop 2 is another movie which adds weight to the argument that sequels basically suck. Few sequels work, those that do are usually radical rethinks of the movie whih came before and have very few elements of the original in them, or make use of more modern technology to blow the predecessor away with flashy special effects and the like. Robocop 2 followed on too closely to its predecessor for that to ever be a viability and went for the highly ... ...a gang of psychos. His Robocop character was all programmed robot - cold and mechanised in direct comparison. We liked the characters, empathising with his plight and with his partner having to see him like this, wanting revenge for him against the thugs and for him to find some of the humanity which she knows is burried in his brain somewhere. Robocop 2 features the same pairing but its not the same - both appear to be delivering their lines in ...

Advantages: Violent, like the original Disadvantages: No Verhoeven, poor script, too violent for some
RoboCop 2 brings about the return of Peter Weller as the bullet proof cop who keeps the streets clean. The story this time is set around a new addictve drug called "NUKE" that has plauged the streets of lawless Detroit.
RoboCop is unaware that his creators, OCP (Omni Consumer Products) want to take the city of Detroit "Private" and develop a new and improved RoboCop 2, a newer, bigger and far more powerful robot to replace the original.
This film ... ...watch by any means.
RoboCop 2 was a good attempt at making a good sequel but failed. It is a fairly enjoyable action sci.fi but isn't really worth the money for purchasing it.
If you are keen to see then I recommend the RoboCop Triology on DVD where you get the original, far superior movie and the third is thrown in for the hell of it.
Enjoyable but nothing compared to the original RoboCop. ...

Advantages: Are you kidding?? this film is awful!! Disadvantages: Too many to list? is that an answer?
Robocop the original was a good film, a bit heavy on the body count, but nontheless a good film, with some good satire. Its violence was excusable. Robocop 2 cannot be excused. God himself could not redeem this awful film. Peter Weller and Nancy Allen reprise their roles from the original. They must have been paid well for it.
It centers around a drug- dealer and a new highly addictive drug called Nuke. Robocop as usual goes to stop the trade, but ... ...ED-209, only worse. Awful, awful film. As usual, Robocop is smashed up, under the direction of young crimlord played by Gabriel Damon. Thats all you need to know. The rest is just blood, guns and violence.
This is a bad film, with none of the charm of its predecessor. ...
