...plays the lead role of Robin of Locksley, an escaped prisoner from a foreign land with fellow escaped prisoner Azeem (Morgan Freeman). Advantages: Plenty of action, Solid performance
Disadvantages: The mid atlantic twang grates a bit

...the story of the legendary Robin Hood but with a few novel twists. THere are some good supporting performances from Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater, Alan Rickman and MAry Mastrantonio is a highly desireable Maid Marion. The perfomances are sound enough to forgive that Mid-Atlantic twang (which does grate occasionally)and the pace and action come thick and fast. Disadvantages: Not too hot on the historical accuracy!

...good version of the classic Robin Hood tale. Kevin Costner plays Robin of Sherwood. He returns home after fighting in the Crusades to find his homeland is not as he left it. The wicked Sheriff of Nottingham (a very hammy but funny Alan Rickman) has got the locals terrified and those that don't like what he is doing have taken refuge in the woods of Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood The Prince Of Thieves - PG The exceptional cast consists of: Kevin Costner (Robin of Loxley), Alan Rickman (Sheriff of Nottingham), Christian Slater (Robin Hoods brother), Morgan Freeman, Sean Connery (King Richard-only a brief appearance towards the end though), Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Maid Marion). Advantages: fantastic action scenes, Alan Rickman is outstanding as the Sheriff of Nottingham
Disadvantages: the historical detail is a bit far-fetched

This has and always will remain one of my favourite films, it stills makes me cry everytime I watch it and hear Bryan Adams at the end! If you like your films to be historical accuarate then this is not for you! There is no attempt at an English Accent by Kevin Costner and Christian Slater is just far too good-looking to play Will Scarlett.
