Road Trip is yet another “rite of passage” movie that catalogues the misadventures of a group of American college students. The plot is definitely a bit thin but its comic elements more than make up for that thinness.
It all revolves round one particular student who has a long distance relationship with a girl he has grown up with. As a result of one nights aberration with another girl his entire world is tipped upside down which some ... ...and so the journey begins.
The journey is presented to the viewer in a semi-narrative style which helps the story being told in an episodic manner (something I personally enjoy). There are many genuinely funny scenes throughout this film, one of my favourites has to be the situation that one of Josh’s (the main character) friends ends up in at the sperm donor depository. Road Trip is sort of an American Pie type film about your typical American group of teenagers getting into trouble!
It's funny all the way through but quite predictable and not as good as American Pie.
I would definately recommend watching it but maybe wait for it to come out on video? If you thought American Pie was good though you will love this.

What is classified as cheating? Well according to this film its not cheating if, you're in different area codes, you're with two people at the same time, as they cancel each other out. BUT it is cheating if you videotape it and send it to your girl friend!
This film is about a university student who films himself have sex with a friend. Then in the morning all his friends want to watch it. but it has been sent to his girlfriend by mistake (if your ... ...term lover to say hi etc...). All his friends are worried about is watching this tape 'Did you make a copy? because if you did we can watch that.'
Josh is more worried about getting the tape back, so he knocks on the door of some geek to help him. Evidently this geek has a car. So of goes a carfull of students, 1800 miles away. They only have 3 days to get there, as this is when the girl friend gets home. Also they need to get back for exams! Well ...

I personally found Road Trip to be an excellent movie that didn't score cheap shots as many other teen movies do. Yes, I admit it was aimed toward a younger audience. Yet, many adults still found their way into the theatre as opposed to paying it little attention. Consider this: if the main characters were a little older and the point of the Road Trip wasn't so juvenile, this movie wouldv'e gotten much better reviews.
Don't get me wrong, there ... ...I got the feeling they were forced in to the script to live up to the expectations of the teen crowd. As for the older crowd, myself included, I loved the more thoughtful jokes but found the less serious ones relaxing and helpful in settling into the comfortability of the movie. ...

...American Pie then you'll like Road Trip. Although it's not exactly an original storyline, the acting and the sheer funniness of it makes it stand out from the rest.

...you've seen the previews of Road Trip, you've seen the best bits of the film.
It made me laugh out loud on a couple of occasions, but the humour is largely confined to a very infantile level, that doesn't make it bad though.
Several gratuitous breast shots (and very nice they were too) earn the film its 15 rating, that and some questionable antics with a white mouse, the missus had to look away - DO NOT try this at home kids.
The story is secondary ... ...bet sales of surgical gloves have gone up with the release of this film.
A typical happy(ish) ending, with no surprises and ultimately a weak script. In my view too many opportunities were lost which could easily have lifted Road Trip above Average to a comfortable Good or Great. ...
