Movie title: Resident Evil
Certificate: 15
Sales and distribution: 20th Century fox and Pathe
Other information: widescreen version 16:9 based on Capcom's popular video game Resident Evil.
Resident Evil has come from game to movie. Usually game to movie projects doesn't have much of a positive following. The likes of Street Fighter, Tekken and Final Fantasy have flopped, big time. Though even with a mixed view on Resident Evil I do believe that ... ...not perfect, Resident Evil is fun, action packed and most important, full of zombies. If you're a horror or zombie fan you will enjoy this film, if you are a hardcore Resident Evil fan then you may be disappointed. I will explain the good and bad points of this film as I have a mixed view on it but for one reason, I am a devoted Resident Evil fan. So on with the film and all its goodies.
From game to movie: the idea of the Resident Evil movie had ...

It would probably have helped a little if I had known something about the game, but from what I have read about it, although this film is based on it, it is something quite different. Plus, I watched it for the first time with absolutely no idea what it was about, other than that a friend had seen it & was petrified. Whatever you know beforehand, it is probably worth a watch.
Story
Most of the film takes place in an underground plant in Raccoon ... ...terribly wrong down there, & it appears that the computer system designed to run the facility has turned against the staff, trying to kill them all. Meanwhile, in the real world, a woman called Alice awakens in a shower, suffering memory loss, unaware of where she is or how she got there. It seems she has been gassed & as a result has temporarily lost her memory. Soon enough she finds herself & another man being taken by a kind of SWAT crew down ...

Introduction Resident evil is a Science fiction horror film which was made in 2002 and was based on video games Resident evil 1 and resident evil 2. Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of computer games and I had never heard of the games until recently. And I did not see the film when it first came out...I was too young! (Bless) However, when the third one came out, I was old enough, so after seeing it at the cinema, being impressed and having someone ... ...keep releasing them! Is Resident Evil a typical Zombie film? Although the concept is exactly the same, this film is above the other Zombie films, the directors and writers of these films generally put gore and violence in place of actual story and movie moments, however Resident Evil does have a story behind it. And although there is violence and gore it is not throughout, the film has genuine action and the gore is not over the top, making an unrealistic ...

...bad as The Musketeer was, Resident Evil was just bad. It has a few moments that are so awful they manage to be entertaining, but if you were planning to enjoy this movie for what it is, then prepare to disappointed. Resident Evil is a movie so inept, so stupid that at times it defies description. I could only gaze silently in horror for an hour and a half as I was visually assaulted and left feeling exhausted by the end of it.
As a movie it was ... ...heads flying and blood spraying. Resident Evil was almost sensitive, yes, I said it. Sensitive. Sometimes it even bordered on poignancy! The Director had no clue as to what he was doing and destroyed every scene that was getting good by refusing to elaborate and attempted to satisfy blood lust with sentiment. Ironically, all Paul W.S. Anderson’s movies have been dreadful cack apart from Event Horizon, a very effective and gory horror movie. ...

...there is hope. Resident Evil is based upon the video game series of the same name. The series, now enjoying reincarnation on the GameCube, is a massive worldwide hit. Each game has sold in vast numbers and, while each one does not advance too much in terms of gameplay, the horror and suspense of each one draws many people to them. A film version of the series was in talks for a long time and buzzed around the Internet like wild fire. However all ... ...anything. The Licker, a Resident Evil favourite, makes an appearance in the film. Yet this CG beast just doesn’t cut it either and you don’t see it until the final showdown. Again it’s woefully un-scary and it doesn’t help that the CG isn’t the best to grace the big screen lately. Another fault of the film is the fact that the target audience for this would have played the games and therefore they are bound to find it frustrating when they see characters ...

...at all the bits in Resident Evil that were blatantly nicked from other places. Now, being a fan of the games, I’m all to aware that they were constructed as both an original piece of gaming entertainment and as a clever nod to the zombie flicks that the creator loved so much. So was the move to blatantly rip off a few other movies in this feature a “clever” “ironic” choice or just bloody lazy? I’m leaning towards ... ...you’re a fan of the Resident Evil games. If you are, there’s a few nods to the series here – so when people start piping up about Nemesis and the T virus, you’ll be going “ah-ha!” But the main key to the games was – the only danger you faced was (drumroll) zombies. Male zombies, female zombies, zombie dogs – and the occasional freakishly large insect, reptile or genetically engineered freakazoid monster. ...

...film or an action film, Resident Evil will probably have disappointed many people. Although it is based loosely on the cult computer games of the same name, I’ve never played the gaming versions, so I effectively watched this as a film in its own right. I certainly have a few criticisms – it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t – but to my surprise, I really enjoyed this movie.
Resident Evil is NOT a particularly original concept. ... ...things aside, I still enjoyed Resident Evil a lot. It made me nervous, kept me interested and was very exciting. Resident Evil is another from the Street Fighter school of carpa film-making - someone thought they could make the film obey the original 'plot' of the game. The first and major problem with this is coputer games simply don't have complicated plots with twists, sub-plots, drama, tension etc. Games don't need intricate plots, they rely on the idea that nobody cares anyway, andin fairness that's just about right. A good film ... ...If you've played the resident evil games, you'll no doubt recognise a couple of the aspects of the film. You may even sit there feeling confident the film will end up being as exciting as you'd hoped, but this will only last a short time. What will quickly dawn on you is that this film is simply a joke. As soon as the opening sequence is over, complete with ludicrous concept of what futuristic technology will do you will be subjeced to the basic ...

...with the imminent release of Resident Evil onto the cinema screens. Its little wonder that games have been making this transition seeing as some of the top titles have plots more complex and characters more developed than much of what comes out of Hollywood in recent months, although Resident Evil really wouldn't come too highly up on that list. It had me glued to the screen for an hour and a half and you can't ask for more than that with this kind of movie. If you like your movies kinetic, low on plot, and high on action and gore then this is for you. If you are looking for weighty dialogue and ...

In the mansion that conceals another entrance to the Vault, Alice (Milla Jovovich) lies on the shower floor, naked except for the shower curtain. Resident Evil the Movie
Rated 15 because of sci-fi/horror violence, language and nudity.
Running Time – 105 minutes
Directed by Paul Anderson
Resident Evil the movie is taken from the Capcom game Resident Evil/Biohazard. The computer game was basically about a woman who ran around killing zombies. Since the games release, there have been many sequels with their latest offering being Code Veronica X. I didn’t really like the Resident Evil saga ... ...Purefoy as Spence. Resident Evil is a good film for all you fans of zombie fliks. It’s worth going to see but lacks dramatic scenes. The storyline isn’t the best but it is satisfactory for this type of movie.
I am really looking forward to a sequel from this movie. Possibly called Resident Evil Nemesis.
Overall, this is a good movie and a must see for all of the fans of the computer games.

The film stars Milla Jovivich and Michell Rodriguez and from what I have since learnt is a spin off from a play station game. I didn't know that before we went or we would probably not have gone. I should imagine it makes a better game than a movie.

The film is a bit disjointed and leaves you quite often feeling 'what happened there' or 'where did they go'. It obviously makes a great game as there is plenty of action, shooting and unarmed combat but unfortunately it doesn't translate well into the film
The plot is about the Umbrella Corporation which has created an underground secret laboratory called 'The ...
