I bought this dvd as an Adam Sandler fan, but this is in a completely different category of film. A touching film with a few moments of comedy which puts things into perspective. Reign over me is a moving film and very effective. In a time where many films focus on events that effect the whole world and require hundreds of extra's this film is a nice break, it follows the story essentially of two men. Charlie Fineman played by Adam Sandler is a character who's whole family - wife and three daughters - are killed in the tragedy of 9/11. He is met by Alan Johnson played by Don Cheadle. ...is unwilling to socialise. Slowly they begin to talk to one another. It is instantly clear that Fineman is suffering from some severe mental trauma due to the death of his family. In the film it is a case of post traumatic stress. In many places in the film Fineman lashes out at his new friend, (Whom he wishes to socialise with because he will ask no questions about his family).
