Advantages: more great humour, cracking stories and witty acting
Disadvantages: none for me

...finale. Plus, the Mining ship Red Dwarf is actually missing during this series, and so is holly, the ships computer, so the series revolves around the remaining crew in search of Red Dwarf using the smaller craft known as Starbug. ==**BUT WHAT IS RED DWARF..?== Red Dwarf is a BBC sci-fi comedy which was initially created in 1983 by spitting image writers Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. The Jupiter Mining ship Red Dwarf is about the size of a town, ...
...Unfortunately, in this series, the Red Dwarf mining ship has been ‘lost’ and Holly has inadvertently gone missing, leaving the four remaining crew members to try and find the mining ship in the little space hopper known as Starbug, soon coming across their usual dangers and chaotic mayhem, which they seem so fond of. ==**LIST OF CHARACTERS…== '''Dave Lister''', _(Craig Charles)_, started as the lowest ranking officer on the mining ship but is now ...

Well ive finally reached Red Dwarf series VI. Its been a long hard road, but i have finally reviewed all six series that have been released on DVD so far. Series V had been broadcast and the pilot of the American version of the show had been a spectacular flop. So the fans made it very clear what they wanted. The wanted more Holly and more episodes set on board Red Dwarf. So what did writers, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor do? They cut Red Dwarf and ...

Running jokes were introduced with rimmers "Space Corps Directives" and Cats "Deader than's" The filming was done under intense pressure from the BBC who wanted it for a Spring/Summer broadcast. Scripts were often completed just in time for the cast to learn the lines without time for rehearsal. In fact they cast had to read their lines off autoque in Out of Time ...

While the crew were busy exploring the Esperanto (final episode of season five "Back to Reality"), someone nicked the ship leaving Rimmer, Kryten, Cat and Dave stuck on Starbug 1. Krten has been ...

Red Dwarf: Series 6 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ While visually very similar to the previous couple of series, Series 6 of Red Dwarf does move the show into a new direction comedically. The quality of special effects and sets has again improved and the whole series has a movie like quality to it, not surprising as this was expected to be the last series and the next step was to make a film. This effectively made Series 6 a long drawn out pitc h to the movie ...

Arnold Rimmer (Chris Barrie), who was previously his superior, has been brought back as a hologram by the ships computer, Holly, to keep Lister company. Also on board is The Cat (Danny John Jules), a creature who has evolved from Lister’s pet cat and the mechanoid Kryten (Robert Llewellyn). ...

Red Dwarf: Series 6 review

Advantages: Funny, lots of replay value, good writing
Disadvantages: None

Red Dwarf: Series 6 is the sixth season of the British sci-fi sitcom created by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. The sixth series started in 1993 and consists of six episodes. The series starts off with the crew awaking from suspended animation. Someone has taken Red Dwarf, they don't know why, but they have been tracking their exhaust trail for 200 years and have now caught up with it. Thus, this whole series is based nearly entirely onboard Starbug, ...
...of Red Dwarf I ever saw, so for me it has a lot of sentimental value to it. I hardly watch any British comedy really, and so for me to actually watch and love this it shows how much quality it has. The writing is superb, it's like Blackadder in the fact that a lot of the humour comes from insults and put downs. This is a tad more crude though, which fits in well with their characters being space bums of sorts. There's a lot of self-deprecating humour ...

...opinion, the sixth series of Red Dwarf is the best yet. All 6 episodes are fantastic with a huge cliffhanger at the end which would leave all fans guessing for 3 years before series 7 makes its appearance! --THE EPISODES-- The series begins with 'Psirens', and it is revealed that the crew have lost their ship, Red Dwarf, and are stuck on Starbug. Lister apparently parked Red Dwarf and can't remember where. As they begin their search for it, they ...

...*******The storyline******* Red Dwarf is a mining ship from Earth. It's crew did number 169 but unfortunately Rimmer didn't fix the drive plate properly because he didn't have any help from Lister because Lister had been put in a stasis field due to keeping an illegal cat on board. The cat's name was Frankenstein. Because Rimmer didn't fix the drive plate properly this caused an atomic explosion and it wiped out the crew except for Lister who could ...

The series does the show complete justice and shows what the whole program is about, clever plotlines, belly-achingly funny gags and one-liners, beautifully scripted by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor and performed by a very talented cast of established British actors, Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John Jules and Robert Lewellyn. The second disc of the package contains the large collection ...
