Advantages: Arnie starts to flex his 'acting' muscles, a nice end Disadvantages: brainless, poor script, tries to be too many things
Whether you love him, hate him, think his acting’s crap, one thing remains perfectly clear: Arnold Schwarzenegger is an action man, and let’s be honest a pretty good one at that. Throughout the eighties and nineties, Schwarzenegger has had a variety of foes from drug lords, terrorist, liquid terminator killing machines, alien predators, Satan himself, toy stores, clones, Batman, male pregnancy and his dialogue coach. So when you want to see a film ... ...of ultra-violence, Schwarzenegger is usually the man to go to and if he’s unavailable, Stallone can kick some stereotype bad guy a$$ as well…
People may not be too familiar if I were to utter the film title “Raw Deal”, it is the film Schwarzenegger did between “Commando” and “Predator” back in 1986. Arnie plays Mark Kaminsky a small town sheriff who used to be in the FBI before being kicked out for seriously roughing up a suspect. He’s not happy ...

Advantages: Smart, I like- Smart ass, I dont Disadvantages: Arnie doesnt get the real 'action' we all know he wants!
Schwarzenegger is Kaminsky, a lone wolf cop working undercover to find the killer of his retainers young rookie son. Arnie immerses himself in the mafia underworld and becomes Sam Wanamaker's ganglord right hand man. The bassy soundtrack is half of the success of this glorious testosterone fuelled gun-fest. From the way Arnie checks all his weapons (yes he pumps his shotgun and then looks at himself in the mirror) to the way he executes mafioso with ... ...cheek performance from Arnold. Not a bad plot this time but the acting could be better and Schwarzenegger carries the film. You may recognise a couple of the actors (one from Scarface and one from License to Kill) but in all honesty, only true Arnie fans can appreciate this film. Not his best work and cheesey in the extreme. But if you are only going to watch five minutes of this film watch the scene where Arnie cranks up the volume of his car stereo ...

Advantages: light entertainment, some hard action Disadvantages: tries to be too many kinds of film
Raw Deal is a typical made for TV kind of film. A young Arnold Schwarzenegger takes on one of many roles where he plays the big strong silent type – he seems to have about ¼ of the words of the other actors. A typical role, undercover, wry lines with almost a comical delivery and sheer determination all set the scene for another action thriller. In this one, Arnold gives up his rough and tough stance for role with the mob – a real take-charge kind ...

Advantages: Schwarzenegger with guns...duh Disadvantages: Fairly run of the mill stuff, Arny's early work.
...on the DVD certainly doesn't help matters. But all in all, Raw Deal is great as a budget film, but don't pay over the odds for it. Personally I'd prefer to get a newer action film with a bigger budget and descent special effects like many of his later offerings. ...
