...ludicrously excessive 2 sequels to First Blood whilst neatly forgeting the more intelligently crafted, ground breaking first movie...and yes, I did say both "intelligent" and "ground breaking". First Blood bravely paved the way for confessional Vietnam movies like "Platoon", "Born On The Fourth of July", "Full Metal Jacket" etc. which replaced the gung-ho, death and glory war movies of yesteryear and made damn sure cinema audiences would never take ... Rambo: First Blood is the first of the Rambo films (followed by First Blood Part 2 and Rambo 3). Obviously I was aware of the cult status of Rambo films – in which Sylvester Stallone cemented the tough guy film star image he’d earned in the Rocky series – but I’d never previously seen any of them. ...a dead beat by the first police officer he met. Quite unrealistic, but a great film nevertheless, The actors play brilliant parts as does rambo, but its just a bit unbelievable at times to take seriously. Disadvantages: the subsequent sequels never lived up to this

...Colonel to Police Chief Thats the first thing i remember about this film, and it sums up the premise of the film. A one man army. A man on a mission. But the story behind this film is very endearing. Unlike many films of it's ilk. Rambo's story has a real backbone and a message to get across.Its obvious what that message is once the film has been watched and its not for me to spoil it for those who havent seen this materpiece of cinematography. ...
