Advantages: They will rock you! Disadvantages: Errr... it's Queen, so, nothing!
...on from Live Aid, and Queen are back at Wembley Stadium, rocking the crowd once more! They are at the top of their form and from this concert you can see why they were the biggest band in the world (at that time anyway). And thankfully, they recorded the experience so that the legions of fans who are far too young to have seen them live (including myself) can have some idea of what they were like. And even better than that, they also recorded their ... ...personal favourite bit is the Queen Cam section, right at the end - that was what made me want to get the dvd since I was told about it by another fan!
***DVD 1***
The saturday concert. If you're a Queen fan, you've probably seen this before, but the concert was nearly 2 hours long (110 minutes), so most videos and tv showings have bits cut out to fit it into a smaller time. And you probably have heard all the cliches before about how Freddie dominated ...

Advantages: Shows how good they are Disadvantages: Makes you wish you could see them in real life
...tour at the minute of queen with paul rogers (lead singer from free), which i can reccomend, as it is brilliant. There is no john decan as he retired in 1999 i think, saying he didnt want to be queen without freddie which is understandable. But i still highly recomend this concert, as it might be the closest you get, and the only chance to see some of them live. Some of the solo bits they do are simply phenominal, my favourites being brian mays solo ... ...bass guitar with his drumsticks!
It really does highlight how gifted they are.
Buy this, and then the live one in rio too, as the croud was even bigger, and it shows how good freddie was at playing them.
And if you get chance, go to the live show! ...

Advantages: Good performance and set list Disadvantages: Nothing!
What a show! Queen at their best here. I couldn't say anything bad about this DVD. It is a strong performance from beginning to end with a good selection of tracks. Freddie Mercury is on form and really gets the crowd going. As a performer, Freddie is incredible and you couldn't really ask for anymore from a live performance.
DVD 1 is about two hours long with 28 song and kicks off with One Vision to a roaring crowd. Freddie covers every part of ... ...Save The Queen.... a classic Queen finale to their concerts.
DVD 2 comes loaded with interviews from Brian and Roger, a multi angle feature and backstage documentry. An interesting addition for any dedicated Queen fan.
A very highly recommended DVD with a strong performance from beginning to end. You cannot go wrong with this DVD at all. This is the concert that got me hooked on Queen. A must buy! ...

Advantages: TRULY MAGIC FROM BEGINING TO END Disadvantages: NOTHING
...is a must for every Queen fan! The show blasted off with an amazingly energetic performance of One Vision followed by the every ready crowd pleasing Tie Your Mother Down. What followed that was In The Lap Of The Gods which got the 80,000 already hyped up fans into an amazing sing a long frenzy. Then in Lap Of The Gods launched into a medley with Seven Seas Of Rhye and tear it up. The magic and energy continued throughout it's a kind of magic and ... ...interviews, rehearsal footage and THE QUEEN MULTI-CAM where you can pick which member of the group (Brian, Roger, John or Freddie) to watch during four fantastic songs.
Disk two also has bit of Friday nights concert, where it rains and Freddie tells everyone "I can't sing until I gets the snot outer my nose"
My only complaint is with the audio, the bass was given a relatively weak mix in both 5.1 and PCM stereo.
In summary, a must have for anybody ...

Advantages: Queen show the world they can rock Disadvantages: Wish it was longer!
...other bands songs, and yet Queen can carry it off, especially when they do You're so square, Hello Mary Lou and Tutti Frutti. As someone who remembers these songs the first time round, ( I'm showing my age now!) it is always nice to hear them from Freddie. I have to say, I always marvel watching Brian May playing the Brighton Rock solo. You can see him get so lost in the music, and you feel that he forgets where he is. May he carry on rocking with ... ...shame that young fans of Queen cannot go to Wembley Stadium the way it was, to see where they played. On disc two, you have clips of Fridays concert and I didn't get the same feeling with that one. It seemed too raw and pointless to add on this DVD. Watch Disc one and enjoy!! ...
