Advantages: Very topical at the moment and interesting in a voyeuristic way. Disadvantages: Score and script are forgettable
Plot -- What would have been seemingly absurd a situation 20 years ago; 13 year-old Stevie (Cameron Van Hoy) and his girlfriend Rocky (Mischa Barton - 'the OC') find Stevie's mothers gun and on a whim whilst walking to school decide to rob a bank instead. Word soon spreads of this and it is turned into a media frenzy. In comes the disgruntled veteran smoking Police negotiator (Burt Reynolds) to save the situation. But the demands are that of achild ... ...kidnap/hold-up film would be complete without the ubiquitous case of "Stockholm Syndrome" as some of the detained customers begin to side with the adventurous and wild children.
With the trend of ever more situations of gun's and children, watching this movie now seems even more hard-hitting and relevant!
The film has some interesting incites into children's mind's and their simplistic nature of viewing solutions to life's woe's.
