Advantages: Lot's Of Pokemon, Fun Storyline Disadvantages: Not Enough Team Rocket, Too Much Chopped Out
...enemy (the super-mon, Mewtwo), big Pokemon battles, and a nice nitty gritty atmosphere surrounding the whole thing. Great I thought to myself! Can't wait for this film! Then the american translators come along and say "hey, this is way to violent and nasty for our little kiddies, let's replace everything that makes it good with worthless trash about friendship and love and basically ruin the entire thing!". Well, if they didn't say that, they did ... ...that bad. Standard storyline, evil Pokemon Mewtwo plans on taking over the world, yada yada yada, Ash, Misty and Brock have to stop him. What I do like about his film however is the great varitey of pokemon that we actually see, including some from the new Pokemon Gold/Silver gameboy games, which kids will just love. The American influences are obvious, but the material should keep the kids entertained for quite a while. Overall, a fun adventure ...

Advantages: Lots on the DVD Disadvantages: Low quality animation
...a sneak preview of the Pokemon 3 film. The DVD-Rom content amounts to the original web-site, on-line links and sampler trailers. The DVD is single sided and comes in a snapper case without a booklet.
Running time is noted at 102 minutes and this DVD will introduce the kids to six new Pokemon.
For what it’s worth, I can’t see much of a difference in the quality of this film and the first but the kids (aged three and five) prefer this ...

...is a trailer of the Pokemon the movie 2k. I think that it is fantastic, and shouldn't even be considered of whether u want to or not! But i think that this only applies to those pokemon fans out there, those who think that pokemon is crap then don't even bother looking down this alley!! but all in all Pokemon on vid is an excellent choice for the ages between 6+ 16 and could be enjoyed by all the family.

...that there is a secong pokemon movie coming out soon. I don't think that that one will have much effect on the puplic either like the first. The question is will the second be as good as the first or the same, a poor atempt.
The makers might not even make a secong movie deciding that the first was a bad creation, and no where near as good as it was supposed to be. There were the few people who did actually like the movie and return time after time ...

Advantages: A good film for children. Disadvantages: none.

To my surprise he sat there the whole time,didn't even move an inch. He seemed like he was glued to the seat, but i promise he wasn't. He was so inthralled in this movie saying who the pokemon were as he saw them. And crying when they all did when he thought Ash was dead.She jumped for joy when he saw all their crying including Pikachu, bring him back from the dead.
I had to make him sit down and be quiet, as there ... ...it, when the film finished and that was a few weeks ago.
When the video comes out i will be first in the queue to buy the video, if it will keep him his quiet. I tried him with other videos for kids of his own age, but to no avail. So don't put it down,because at times these films are life savers. ...

Advantages: children still like pokemon so they will be happy Disadvantages: its a poor film
...when the legendary three flying pokemon of fire, ice and lightning get down to a serious bit of team tag pokemon fighting? Answer..well, total mayhem ! I've just been along to see this film with my pokemon-mad daughter, and I've survived. She did spot me dozing off at one point, but overall I managed to stay awake through most of it. Luckily, I had got out of having to watch Pokemon the First Movie, and am now astonished to be told that 2000 is a ... ...was poor, and she is pokemon crazy - so that gives you a total warning, doesn't it? As to the main event, well what can I say. There are indeed loads of pokemon, some zany Japanese cartoon characters with those funny cartoon eyes and a sprinkling of quite decent computer graphics, all mixed up into the film. At least the colours they use are nice and bright. One thing I did find useful in the cinema was the running commentary provided by the kids ...

Advantages: Great fun Disadvantages: Nothing really new
.... If you're not a Pokemon fan then this will not be for you.
However having said that if you get a chance give it a go there are worse ways of spending an hour or so of your time.
For your trouble you get 2 portions of the cute little critters. The first part is a short comedy affair called Pikachu's Vacation and very funny it is too. The Pokemon lend themselves quite naturally to the kind of slapstick antics made famous by cartoon characters like ... ...the rarest and most powerful Pokemon they end up creating a monster that threatens the entire world. It's then up to our hero Ash Ketchum to save the day. Lots of fun and thoroughly predictable the film does have some wonderful moments the most notable of which has to be the scene where Ash gets injured and a heart broken Pikachu tries to revive him. I defy anyone with an ounce of soul in them to not choke back a tear at this fine scene. Great fun ...

Advantages: Great for Pokemon fans, so many new Pokemon to see Disadvantages: Little confusing as to what was actually going on some of the time
...the kids as many new Pokemon as possible with as little story line as possible. I had to admit, the Bellossom were very cute.
The main movie was all about Ash, a young Pokemon trainer and his friend's adventure in which they save the world. The story line was a little confusing at times and it did not surprise me to read that it was a different story line in America, set to the same animation. Basically, the bad guy set three powerful pokemon, Articuno, ... ...Zapdos and Moltres.
If your kids are mad about Pokemon then they will love this film. As an adult having to endure the movie almost twice (minus the nap)I am almost convinced that I will buy the video when released just to see if I can make sense of it. ...

Having been a big comic and Anime fan for a number of years the style was not alien to me but the taming of it all to suit eight year olds has made it extremely bland and boring. The pokemans themselves are very predictable and Ash and co. are more suited for three year olds. I enjoy going to movies with the kids but this is one that I could have sleept through. The only thing that I wish I had done is invented the trading cards - cool money making ...

...have recently seen the new pokemon movie and couldnt wait to publish the new characters to ciao.com. To be to the rules I will first give you a view of the movie! The movie kicks azz and is about ash trying to win a new competition that that has been make in Poketown......(ENOUGH OF THIS!)......The new pokemon that have been released are great they are as follows:
Maktolite: This pokemon fires spikes at enimies and kills them in on with its special!
... ...its super special move!
And last but definately not least,
Frojitokan: This pokemon is lif a frog and has a huge tongue to grap and squeeze its opponents.
Come back soon when I will publish the rest of the characters, I will call the opinion NEW POKEMON REVEALED 2! ...

Wow. What a move I've just watched it. I was shoucked. I never thought it would have all them new Pokemon. The story line is so good. Inever thought that that little yellow thing would actually be hung. It was so sad the way that that little boy was crying and the king ordered his head cut off. I loved that little purple creature i forget its name but I thought it was really cute but so sad how it died. I mean was there any need for the tourture. ... ...that could not even walk. It didn't even have no legs but I didn't half feel sorry for it when you found out about it. I mean did you expect it to really have lost them that way, it was just so disterbing. I, I, I think I'm going to be sick. ...

Pokémon the First Movie had a lot of hype when it came out. Mainly because it is based around one of the most popular, if not THE most popular Childrens TV Show and Game Series available at the moment. However, this movie has to be one of the most boring and pointless movies ever made. It has no interesting storyline and is totally unrelated to the games, which i think have amazing gameplay. But I am speaking from the view of a young adult. Many ... ...the characters and love all of the characteristics and idiosyncracies that the 150 (currently, there will be more) Pokémon have. So for kids, it's an excellent movie. It keeps them engaged and they love it. And the DVD is not too bad, a few extra features but nothing too amazing. But for adults, think again. Please. This movie is something that I would recommend to anyone with an age of 12 or under, but certainly no more than that, even if they like ...
