Let me take you through the tracks and explain a bit about each one:

Advantages: Has an orchestral slash psychadelia mix which is unique to pink floyd Disadvantages: First track is Pink floyd's longest and is long winded, may drive people crazy if you sat them down an forced them to listen to the opening track for half an hour
...the later albumn making it Pink Floyds longest studio song.It is divided into 5 parts which are based supposedly around the experiences of a cow but is hard to believe.A vast rushing array of instruments and sound effects including piano, trumpet, trombone, french horn and of couse a backing strings orchestra of violins and chellos through certain patches on the track. This song i would take some getting used to and patience but is a very rare treat ... ...a very classical edge of Pink Floyd.
IF: Has a great guitar melody as backing and rather a poetic take to a floyd track this is a solo Waters track which is rather repetitive but has another soothing feel to it.
SUMMER 68: Ahhh my favourite track by Rick Wright.Has an excellent intro with rick flowing his piano like a stream blended in are his poetics then all of a sudden a gothic chorus enters with church organ and full strengh. This track is a ...

Possibly the oddest album ever to top the charts, this opus consists of a 23-minute tune, complete with grandiose horns in the form of the title track. On top of this, add one effort from each songwriting-singing Floyd and a less than essential three-part track, interspersed with the sounds of a roadie having breakfast, and you have an album you`ll either love or hate. It is personally one of my favourites, and I cannot get enough of the title track ... ...I also think that Rick Wright`s `Summer `68` and David Gilmour`s `Fat Old Sun` are some of their best efforts ever. However, a lot of people (Pink Floyd included) do not agree with me and see it as very self indulgent and boring. My advice would be to give it a go - you may be pleasantly surprised. ...

Advantages: brilliantly creative Disadvantages: short track listing
...only in the capabilities of Pink Floyd:
Atom Heart Mother provides a stunning colabiration between soft rock and the honest style of classical and progressive music.
Despite being blaitantly contrasting to earlier efforts from Pink Floyd (i.e. Relics, the acid induced trip through seemingly random, but clearly well structured music in the form of a debut album), this change in "genre" has allowed Pink Floyd to develop their style to an extent whereby ... ...probes deeply into the image Pink Floyd create for themselves. The cow standing in a very stereotypical field gives no insight as to what the actual content of the album may be, and consequently acts almost as a metaphor for the ideal of not wanting to be pinned to any specific approach to music. This is something Pink Floyd can pride themselves with on all of their records.
A slight drawback is the elasticity between the short amount of tracks, ...

Quick review of Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother - Ultimate Critical Review (DVD)
Considering that this was done during a time when Pink Floyd were struggling to find their musical footing after having lost their founding member, Syd Barret, and trying to adjust to the newest member, David Gilmour, this is an extraordinary piece of musical art.
I highly recommend this to any new Pink Floyd fan. It is, as are all the other albums until The Wall, truly an original work by the ever under rated band from the late '60s. ...
